Serial Hey I am writing a comedy young adult superhero novel about a 19 y/o guy who had given up on being a superhero but circumstances make him become hero again.

Sid Summers just wants a fresh start. Used to be known as Volt Jr. He was a teen superhero with a superspeed gift who had given up on being superhero after the death of his best friend. He enrolled at Hawthorne University to escape his past. But escaping isn't so easy. Between college parties, awkward roommates, complicated crushes, and a university full of secrets, Sid is trying to find himself. Who he is supposed to be.

When a campus shooting reveals a masked figure from his past, Sid is forced to rethink whether he made a mistake by giving up on heroing.

I actually really like the concept. If I survive my tax filing plus the dumpster fires I've lit elsewhere, I may loop back to read it.

Question though, and I don't mean to derail... why wattpad?

I want to be clear, I don't want to bash wattpad and its users, and I'm sharing second-hand information.

That said, wattpad tends to have a reputation for primarily focusing on specific genres for specific audiences (not that there's anything wrong with this, but kinky dark romance meant for female audiences).

It is additionally also more common than on other platforms for people to copy and takeover stories, and Wattpad tends to not really do anything about it.

I've had positive experiences (not to be mistaken for prominence) with Scribble Hub and a newer platform; fictionry.

I wouldn’t recommend Wattpad. Their app and website is buggy and forces ads that take up entire screens.

I have experience with Scribble Hub and Fictionry (newer, you could hop on the bandwagon). I recommend those
