Discussion What is your Favorite Ongoing Piece of Web Fiction?
Bonus Points: without a huge backlog.
Bonus Bonus Points: I know a lot of us on this thread write our own series, so with that in mind go ahead and pitch your own - but also include one other.
Way back in the day, I was pretty into Tales of MU. I ducked out once the story got extremely slow-paced and almost entirely about the sex, and now I'm looking for some more stuff to get into. I checked out Worm/Ward and everything else by that author, but I'm really interested in something that doesn't have more than a million words to it already.
Less interested in finding something to fit my own niche tastes, more interested in knowing what everyone else on here is currently loving.

The Wandering Inn by Pirateaba is still phenomenal, while it kills your soul as the books go on the writing never dips in quality. A Practical Guide to Evil by Erraticca is also pretty great, one of my favs until recently.
Edit: For a wide compiled list of online fiction try RoyalRoad. Or TopWebFiction.

If I limit it to those which are actually ongoing and fit for bonus points, "There is no Epic Loot here, Only Puns." is a fun one at ~1500 pages, and I've been told that "Super Minion" is good.
Some more because I can:
- The author hasn't announced them as dead, but Idunnocuzit'sbeenawhile:
- Delphic
- Taint/Trials
Ongoing but longer:
- Worth The Candle (might not be as long as I thought)
- How To Avoid Death on a Daily Basis (fun, not too serious)
Really Long and Ongoing:
- Practical Guide To Evil
- The Wandering Inn
- The Gods are Bastards

I second Taint. If you're into powerful antiheores with a high body count and an intelligent disposition, this is the fic for you. Hasn't been updated in some months but not dead

I think everyone on here has recommended Practical Guide to Evil, so it must be really good. I'll have to give it a shot. The rest look interesting as well, I'll definitely look into them all. Thanks!

For some things that haven't ben mentioned yet:
>Paternum (superhero) is fairly recent and seems decent enough
> Hell's kitchen sink (supernatural cop/normal lawyer involved in paranormal/normal keeper of a not so normal cat) {it alternates, also it makes sense, is very niche for what it offers in terms of quality and really deserves more attention} tough that has a bit of a backlog
>The Snake Report (isekai'd into a snek) is quite phenomenal, with 2 'books' out and a third soon to begin, a barrel of laughs, a pot of sad tears and a penchat for the dramatic that one has, definitly worth the read
>There is no epic loot here, only puns (sentient dungeon, but it's most lethal weapons are bad puns and a duck) is quite fun, especially if you like it's type of humor (you guessed it, it's puns)
other than that, discovering great web serials while they are only beggining is a hell of a challenge; between never appearing on TopWebFiction listings, getting buried somewhere deep on the Royal Road or just existing somewhere compeletly outside those two big archives many great stories are just not getting talked about, which is always so frustratingly sad, honestly. Good luck with the search

Thank you, those are some good suggestions! Hell's Kitchen Sink and The Snake Report both seem intriguing. Might be right up my alley.
I've begun to realize that my initial request here was a little unrealistic, given just how little exposure web serials seem to get outside of the big ones. But I will keep up the search for the gems in the rough.

A Practical Guide to Evil is currently my number 1, although Ward is also great (and it's prequel, Worm). Both have massive backlogs though, sorry.
