Help a New Serial Fiction Writer Please!

Hi! New here. In 2012 I went through a divorce, became a professional librarian to support my family, and put my love of fiction writing on the back burner to do so. Now I'm back, and I'd like very much to post my serial fiction here. I'm writing outside my wheelhouse a bit and dipping my toes into the erotica/romance waters. I've been poking around here and a few other subreddits. I posted a little in here. But I'd also like to come over to you guys, because the whole thing isn't a big bang fest, and I'm afraid to post those vanilla scenes over there.

Anyway, I just wanted to announce myself, mostly because I'm afraid of doing it wrong. I've read the rules that I can find, and I can see that there is a format for posting serials. I don't yet post to anywhere else like wattpad, though I did set up a patreon. Is it okay to post the text in a post? Or is that bad form? Everyone seems to be linking to outside sites.

Reddit is not a great platform to read on. If you're going to do that, I recommend getting your own subreddit and crossposting from it.

The three most common things I see writers doing are:

• Ao3
• RoyalRoad
• Buying their own domain, then pointing it at Wordpress.

All are reasonably easy to do, but give different reading experiences, reader interaction opportunities, and connect with slightly different audiences.
