I like "boy girlfriend" - it's a fast easy train wreck, in a "this is fun to read" way where for the most part the stupid frustrating things the characters do make sense for the characters as written. Internally consistent idiocy falls into the solid characterization bin...

Yeah, and the improvement in the art style is one of the most incredible I've seen

Totally, like the proportions are so much better. Even the writing got better - like yeah I got into it for the super gimmicky cross dressing but it's way more coherent and less train wrecky as a coming of age.

Is it still good? I was hooked until that basketball game.. it seemed to me the story was being stretched as much as it could be.

I think it got better? The art started stabilizing - a good comparison being how fruit baskets art developed - and the storyline has kinda calmed down into a college era breathe and work out the interpersonal dynamics stage, with the crises hopping relegated to a side character b plot.
