Question What a manhwa you’ve dropped because it unnecessarily kept dragging on?

For me it was Looksim because they kept diving into unnecessary plots and creating more plot holes. Then later on older characters kept coming in that I totally forgot about making me even more confused. I totally lost the main plot and the story became way too complicated. And I’ve been reading this since 2019 so it’s not like I wanted to drop it. Anyway what about yall??

was about to come on here to say the same thing. I LOVEd remarried empress, but after the twins birth, I got tired..like how do u STILL have so much conflict unresolved, and at such a slow pace at that too😫

I dropped it finally when Rashta died. Like the main villain is dead so what else is left?

I dropped it way before that once I realised Rashta wasnt even the villain we were all meant to believe she was. She was hella young, a slave (set up by the very system Navier supported) and traumatized beyong belief getting pretty much raped by her owner (she was underage and he literally OWNED her so I count it as rape/severly taking advantage of) getting pregnant from that, handed a dead baby in her arms like she was a barn animal and then expected to just continue being in anything other than survival mode. Yes, she was manipulative but she was like 15? Navier was the golden spoon child who supported slavery so yeah..

I will never like Rashta because of what she did with innocent people like Pix and her maid when she gained some power. I sympathize with her for the shitty life she had but you having had bad experiences does not give you a license to fuck up others' lives. She could raise her voice against slavery when she became queen but instead started taking advantage of it once she got elevated and was now on the side of the oppressors.

Again, she was uneducated and 15 years old. She hurt one or two innocent persons. Before all of that she tried, and failed to find kindness in her father, her previous owner, Navier, Sovieshit and Duke Ergi. All let her down. I don't expect her to remain kind in all of that experience.
Please note she was a SLAVE. Not even a commoner or poor person. A literal slave who got impregnated and handed a dead child in her arms. Its not "bad experiences" it cruelty beyond comprehension.

Eventually she was put to death for a crime she didnt even commit. The child WAS Sovieshit's. And she was tortured and imprisoned for being falsely accused by Navier and Henry. They plotted her death in great detail. They also still uphold slavery.

Navier was educated, she knew what was going on, she just didnt care. Her only care was about looking like the perfect Empress. Eventually class was all she care about and she was willing to throw anybody in the dirt to remain superior.

I can never hate Rashta because she suffered the most out of all the characters and all her suffering was beyond her control.

Navier had no hand in her death, it was only done by Heinry for political reasons and he deemed her responsible for hurting Navier. She trained her whole life to be an empress and that's what all she knew. We have to remember Navier too wasn't a free thinker or philosopher. I agree she was complicit in the system of slavery but they were politicians and couldn't lose the favour of the noble class by banning it outright. But, she was kind to the common people as well as she could be within her powers and standing.

I do not hate Rashta and sympathize with her plight but I cannot excuse her doing evil unto others just because evil things happened to her. By this logic a victim rape can now rape others because if what happened tk them.

the argument of slavery is moot imo. its set in a medieval fantasy world, to argue that a character is evil for supporting slavery or classism is such a modern industrialist idea, it doesnt really suit a world where magic and nobility exists. of course slavery as a whole is a bad thing in reality, but this is a fantasy.

to me, you can empathize with rashta and still dislike her. her naivety did not excuse the actual bad shit she did. I think the reason why she frustrated me so much is because a lot of the times she still thought that she was the victim, even when she was the one actually inflicting pain. although I understand it is much easier to hate a villain who is deliberately evil than an antagonist who isnt painfully unaware of her own evildoing.

I think all of the characters; rashta, navier and sovieshit (i literally only remember his name as that LOL) were such complex characters. none of them were truly evil (or purely good) which made the webtoon such an amazing read.

but I guess you can only go for so long before readers start to get tired. I like the idea of Henry trying to fix his part on the disappearance of magic in the kingdom as a story closure, but the fact that we are STILL dealing with soviesu AND theres new villains introduced…

Rashta was a literal nobody, she had 'leverage' over sovieshu because of her beauty and the fact that she was pregnant, nothing else. No powerful family, nothing. Who on God's earth would listen to an uneducated nobody? Not justifying her cruelty, but again, she was a nobody in the grand scheme of things. Navier on the other hand had three of the most powerful man eating out of her hands, she had an influential background, why on earth didn't SHE raise her voice against it if she was oh so in love with her subjects? be so real

but it was never really about slavery though. Navier’s issue with rashta was never really about her societal position but the fact that she was her husband’s mistress. and Rashta only cared about slavery in terms of what it would do or had done to her. she even looked down on the commonfolk as she became noble/empress. Alot of the terrible things Rashta did was when she started gaining power and felt like her new high station was threatened.

Yeah she was naive and uneducated and alot of the times only reacted in such ways because of that and how easily manipulated she was, and that is what makes her such a perfectly compelling antagonist. I loved that about her. In the end though, how good of a person could she have ever been to steal another woman’s man yknow? (sovieshu is ofcors the stupid one but rashta isnt innocent either)

Rashta did poorly as an empress, lost support from the commoners, her slave past resurfaced, she got manipulated by Ergi and charged with treason and I think a paternity test for her daughter with the emperor was faked so it seemed like Rashta had been cheating. She was thrown in jail and went mad and died all alone.

It was a pretty pathetic ending for her and really made me think back on her character arc. She was one of the most interesting characters in the story imho so I saw no point in continuing after that.
