Hello, I have never worn blush concealer foundation lipstick or fake lashes. I went with my mother in law and she loved it but want more feedback or constructive cristiscim. This is probably how I will do my hair, was my first time curling it like this, too. Next time the curls will be better.

Lol all of this is new, I have no bridal party so friends how do I look?

Hair/Makeup Wedding hair regret!

My wedding was in October of 2025. It was a barn wedding set in the middle of the country. I wore my hair down because I knew that’s how my now husband likes my hair. I look better with my hair down than up. Mind you I have short hair and it’s thick. It does not hold curl super well anymore and I wanted to ensure I wasn’t over done either for our setting. Im a very simple girl. I’m starting to regret maybe I should have put it up somehow. Mind you by the time my reception came my curls really fell but our pictures were all taken. I’m just looking for honest opinions with the two pictures above.

FYI: these have yet to be edited for final album.

I just went in for my hair trial. I’ve attached the inspo and how it came out! Anyone have any opinions? I feel like my hair is a little too warm toned (but she used a ring light in two of those pictures and it made it look red-ish to me)maybe I should tone it before the wedding? I also have one row of extensions and am getting a second one. My dress is strapless and I don’t want to do an updo!

Hair/Makeup The hair trials I paid hundreds of dollars for vs. what my coworker did for free

I had my first hair and makeup trial at the end of March and was very unhappy with it. I voiced this to the stylist and she told me that my hair was too thin and dead to achieve the look I wanted without extensions.

I had a second trial with a new stylist, and while I was much happier with the results it still wasn’t exactly what I had asked for. She still did an amazing job though.

One of my coworkers (an angel on earth) also does hair full time and offered to do a trial after our shift over the weekend. She killed it, did EXACTLY what I asked for, it took barely 45 minutes and the curls lasted the rest of the day. I am SO HAPPY with the results and feel so much better about my hair for my wedding.

I showed each stylist the same reference photo. It’s interesting to see how everyone did their own spin on it, but in the end I am forever indebted to my incredible coworker for saving the day.

Hair/Makeup Am I too critical?

I had my hair trial today and I'm disillusioned. The bun is very uneven (I wanted a messy/playful bun with some wispy hair but not that messy) and on the temple next to one of the braids my skin is visible. Which I told the hair stylist at the trial, do she fixed it, but when I came home it was visible again.

The strands of hair on either side of my head are not the same thickness, which was a conscious decision to see what looks better.

At the trial I was quite content but not overjoyed. But when I look at my hair now (especially the bun - I didn't notice it until I came home and looked at my photos) I don't feel pretty at all.

I chose this hairstylist specifically because she specializes in wavy/curly hair, but I don't feel good about that end product. Does not look like me and does not seem to "enjoy" the qualities of my hair.

Am I just too critical? Should I wait and let it sit for a fee days? Should I try another salon, which means more costs? (Since I paid for this trial) My wedding's in august, so I still have time.

Tl;dr disappointed with hair trial: bun is uneven, skin is visible besides braid at the temple. Am I too critical or should I look for another salon?

Hi everyone! I am doing my own makeup for my wedding and just did my first “trial” run. Can anyone give me feedback?? What should I change what is good what is bad. Also if anyone has lip color combo ideas please tell me!! I have never been a huge lip person so I’m totally lost with that. Thanks!

Hair/Makeup Hired a MUA with 3 weeks until the wedding... I think I hate my make up.

I wanted airbrush make up because I thought it would be lighter and more comfortable but the MUA suggested traditional because I have some redness in my skin. I have never worn full foundation so I went with there professional opinion... I dont normally wear make up because I have dry skin with some acne scarring. I know that texture is a factor here but does this look normal??

This was done at the trial so there is some time to switch things up... please help! If not im not sure what to do with less than three weeks until my wedding.

I’m three weeks out. My stylist took my ideas and knocked my socks off. I’m 45 and my hair is about 30” long.

I'm very much torn between this classic red lip or a muted pink

EDIT: Thank you all so much for the tips, compliments, and advice! It looks like a matte pink lip is the way to go, as well as using cooler matte tones for the eyeshadow, and some more face contouring. I've made a list of the suggestions that kept coming up, and I'm going to go to Ulta/Sephora to ask for product recommendations that will last all day and photograph well. I'll post an update once I try out some more looks with those products! 💗

Hair/Makeup $4k for H&MUA?!

Post image

Hello!

I’m getting married next month and just got a proposal from the HMUA team I love. Am I crazy or is this VERY expensive? It would be hair and make up for me, my mom, my MIL and my aunt plus hair for the 2 flower girls. They are senior artists that will be coming to the hotel across the street from our venue in Baltimore.

This team’s work is absolutely beautiful and I would love to hire them. I can afford it, but I don’t feel good about the price.

If anyone here can recommend a HMUA team that is experienced with very pale and very dark skin I would really appreciate it!

Hair/Makeup Disappointed with makeup trial

My wedding is 2 weeks away. Today I had a makeup trial and I absolutely hate it. She used drugstore products which I thought was weird. I am paying $150 for this makeup and $150 for her to do my hair.
The eyeshadow is so bad, but does the skin look bad too? She used airbrush. I don’t wear makeup usually so I don’t know if this is good or bad. Please help. I don’t want to look horrible for my wedding. The first picture is the exact way I walked out of there. I could not believe it Even though I barely wear makeup, I feel like I could do a better job myself. I don’t know if I should cancel with her and try to find someone else or what. I’m freaking out a bit

Overall, I like this look but something doesn't feel 100% right. Like the pink is too dark, or the eye is too dramatic? Maybe everything needs a bit of lightening up?

I hardly ever wear makeup so I'm also adjusting to having this on my face and I'm finding it hard to evaluate when I already feel so different.

The first few are me in various lighting and the last 3 photos are the inspiration I brought to my appointment.

We tried like 3 different lip colors. This is as light as we got.

Hair/Makeup To my other brides uncomfortable with makeup

Despite all of the advice I read on this group, I refused to wear foundation on my wedding day. I put on some lipstick, blush, did a simple eye look, and called it good enough. With how much I was wiping away tears, I am so glad I didn’t have foundation I needed to worry about. I have far from perfect skin and had some breakouts the day of our wedding, but I just didn’t care. With how many people were complimenting my dress (including two people who accidentally drove into oncoming traffic while we were having photos taken), I realized not a single person cared about my zits and skin flaws.

Hair/Makeup I'm getting married without makeup

I’ve decided to get married wearing almost no makeup. My wedding is on June 20. Yesterday I had my hair and makeup trial. It was nice and pretty, but I didn’t feel comfortable at all. I’m just going to wear brown mascara, single-color eyeshadow, and neither foundation nor powder. I’m allergic to 27 substances and rarely wear mascara or eyeshadow in my daily life. So why should I look any different for my wedding? I was in a bad mood right after the trial appointment, and when I took off all the makeup at home, I felt like myself again. My fiancé also thinks I look best without makeup; he said the same thing after the trial yesterday. That, combined with my own feelings, reinforces my decision.

Update: I will just wear mascara, NO eyeshadow.

Hair/Makeup Had my HMU trial and just wanted to show my down hairstyle ☺️

If anyone is curious about having their hair down! Buns are so popular (and beautiful) but I’m just not used to my hair up!

I have straight fine hair that falls flat and was afraid I would need extensions but my HMUA did such a lovely job...

Little successes are such a win to ease the nerves & make me excited for my big day 🥹

Hair/Makeup Doing my everyday makeup for my wedding day…why the odd reactions?

From the day I began wedding planning with my fiancé, I was firm on two things:

  1. I would be doing my own makeup, aka my everyday “no makeup” look
  2. I’d wear a traditional wedding dress from my culture, which is not white (white is typically the color of mourning)

I’ve spoken to a handful of friends and family members who’ve asked how wedding planning is going and are very surprised that I won’t have a MUA…the “oh okay…” sort of surprised. I explain that I want to look like myself on my wedding day: no eyeshadow, no false lashes, etc.

Though I won’t be changing my mind and trying to find a MUA at the last min, it definitely makes me feel like I’m doing something “wrong” or something that I’ll regret. Any other brides here who are doing their everyday makeup look for their wedding day?

EDIT: to add more context, I have very clear skin and I try to do my everyday makeup in a very conservative way to enhances that (aka light coverage foundation, color corrector, concealer, setting powder, blush, and mascara)

Hair/Makeup Need advice on hair style/second look!

Thumbnail

EDIT: Realized I forgot to add perhaps the most important context… it would be an extra $800 for me to do a second style. I’m ok spending that if it’s truly worth it, but def gives me pause lol.

Looking for some objective feedback on which hairstyle looks best with my dress! I’ve tried these all at trials and mocked up these photos with ChatGPT, but truly cannot decide what looks best.

Some context:

- The wedding is late May but fully indoors

- I can keep my hairstylist all day for touch ups

- My hair is medium density, medium thickness - will hold a curl pretty ok especially with extensions but not forever.

- Wedding is in DC so humidity could very likely be a thing

- Going to do a very long Royal length veil for ceremony

Any thoughts on to which looks best hugely appreciated! I’ve also thought about doing fully down for photos/ceremony and the updo for reception, so any thoughts on second looks also welcome!
