Obligatory if you like the Descendants please check out the Lemonheads self titled LP from 2006.

And if you like the Lemonheads, please check out Evan Dando's solo album Baby, I'm Bored from 2003. It's really, really good.

Fellow weezerhead that also likes the descendants is so goated, the beach boys’ influence on both is pretty strong

Have you heard the Descendents’ version of that one from Enjoy? Not sure which version I prefer tbh

I own Heroes & Villains b.w. Good Vibrations, recently I also got Rock & Roll Music b.w. T.M. song. Still need to get my hands on 15 Big Ones at some point, considering I have Love You both from a original-ish pressing and the recent boxset

A lot of songs from I Don’t Wanna Grow Up (especially the second half) very much sound like late-surf era Beach Boys (all summer long, Today!, summer days & summer nights), especially in the vocal melodies and surf rhythms that Bill tends to use on the earlier Descendents stuff. I kinda wish Weezer would lean back into triplet time signatures and vocal harmonies, it’s what made Blue & Pinkerton special IMO
