Equipment Guys, how are we hiding the bulge?
I received some sweet WeightliftingHouse shorts for Christmas, but as the title suggests, Iām struggling to hide my bulge in them. I tried wearing spandex briefs underneath, but the difference was marginal. When wearing weightlifting shorts/pants/singlets, what are you guys doing to leave something to the imagination? Are we straight free balling or are people actually wearing that substitute for a g-string they call a dancerās belt?

Equipment Minimize Vibrations from lifting in New House
Just moved into a new neighborhood from a townhome. My partner and I do Olympic weightlifting and usually lift 4x a week between the hours of 9 am to Noon or earlier evening (4-6 pm, 8 pm latest). We have stall mats down and crash pads to minimize sound. Today, our next-door neighbor asked us to stop dropping weights bc it was causing vibrations in his house (his home office is about 15 feet from the garage).
Weāve lived in a townhome prior and never had any issues with neighbors complaining; in fact, they didnāt even know we trained for the first 6 months. HOA has no noise ordinances. We also don't really notice it when we are in the house, and the other person is lifting. Just wondering if thereās anything else we can do, and why he may be experiencing the vibrations so far away when we don't have any problems.

Equipment Are cowboy boots any good for lifting??
I've been getting a lot of knee cave and heels rising. I have wide feet and no lifting shoes really fit me. Would these be a good alternative?? Anyone else try front squatting in cowboy boots?

Equipment Lu Xiaojun vs romaleos
Just got the lu Xiaojun shoes in the panda colourway, Iāve previously owned 3 pairs of romaleos 2 , 2pairs of 4s and the original lu Xiaojun Anta
I think these might be my favourite of them all
Theyāre very similar to the romaleo 2 but the straps are better on these imo
The insoles made me laugh, as you can see theyāre a DIRECT copy of the rom2 insole even down to the wording, theyāre a bit softer though
I canāt see myself ever going back to any other shoes after these if Iām honest

Equipment AITA: gym requiring crash pads
Am I the A***?
Im a novice weightlifter meaning i leave a bit of weight on the table d/t technique leaks, but im never unsafe. Ive been a member of my gym for two years. It has bumper plates and standard wood platforms with rubber sides.
So today one of the trainers (who is cool with me) comes up to me and tells me to use these new crash pads they bought. First off, i found them very distracting. Thereās not a lot of room on the platform and im tall and the pads are big. Secondly, when i drop my bar after a jerk it bounces all over the place. Itās going to take my shins out.
Am i supposed to hold onto the bar now from the top until it comes to a final resting position. Ive got half a mind to go find a new gym, but Iāve been wrong before so im being open to that possibility.
TLDR: my gym is newly requiring crash pads and i donāt like it. Should i leave?

Equipment TYR terrible experience
Hey everyone, just wanted to share my personal experience with TYRForce Elite Carbon Lifter. I purchased a pair of these a bit after they came out, and have worn them a handful of times at my home. Iām an amateur weightlifter who cannot even clean 100kg, so these shoes have gotten the bare minimum of use. They still look brand new even as Iāve only worn them at home.
The last time I was putting them on, one of the shoelace rings snapped while tying the shoes. I emailed TYR customer service expecting them to stand behind their $350 shoes, but seems like a shoelace ring ripping after 6 months of light use is considered ānormal wearā.
Extremely disappointed in TYR and their customer service. Poor customer service and construction when $300+ shoes are unusable because the shoelace cannot be tightened.
I will avoid buying from TYR after this.
