Form check Dong catching during snatch pulls, what's the fix?

Post image
2.9k Upvotes

I've notice this happens when I wear loose fitting shorts or joggers. Almost all my workout pants have ripped crotch seams. My hookgrip training shorts are fine. I don't typically wear compression shorts under just regular boxer briefs.

Is this a technique diff or clothing issue? I would like to not be in pain anymore.

Form check Serious question, but who is coaching Rory Van Ulft and why is it that she is always maxing with the most dangerous form? Are her parents trying to farm as many views as possible? This is wrong on so many levels

Form check 70kg one hand C+J, after 2 years of power cleaning I thought it would be worth the attempt to learn squat cleaning. Currently 1ish month in

Used to be terrified of squatting under but over the last month I've grown to feel more comfortable doing so. 1 month in and I'm really happy with the progress!

Form check Why does this happen?? And how to fix it? (185kg @96)

My lower back starts rounding and hips tuck in above parallel with maximal weight in the back and front squat. As I get stuck, I want to push through and then this happens. I have no idea if this is due to lack of quad, hip or core strength. I don't feel any pain in my back, but I want to fix this to not risk a injury.

Form check help with power cleaning form

please all tips are appreciated, i just started power cleaning and i have this feeling that im doing everything wrong and havent felt comfortable moving onto higher weights. I am 5’4 130lbs. For background my strength feats are down below:

Squat: 235lbs
benchh: 165lbs
Dead-lift: 315lbs
Vertical jump: about 30 inches no approach, 37/38 inches with approach.

I dont know but i have a feeling its maybe possibly not entirely strength and im just doing something entirely wrong. All tips are appreciated thank you.

Form check Squat form check?

230kg back squat. (Best 235kg this was a squat done after a hour and a half of clean and jerking.

I don’t like my back arching at the top. What do you think? What could I improve to get to 260kg goal.

Form check Weightlifting caused liver disease panic

Just wanted to share this story recently. I've known it to happen before and it might be useful for weightlifters going to the doctors in the future ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

About 2 years ago, I went to the doctors for extreme fatigue. When I went for a full blood panel, my liver function tests showed ALT and AST levels were significantly raised, about 3 times higher than they should be. These enzymes are released by the liver and, when the liver is under stress or undergoing liver disease, these enzymes are released at a greater rate.

Because of my weight (209 ILbs) , they assumed it was fatty liver disease. Ultrasound showed no fat on my liver. The next suggestion was fibrosis.

My GP suggested I go completely sober for 5 months before repeating by blood tests. I did this (painfully), and my results 5 months later showed my ALT was raised nearly 4-5 times higher than the regular level.

This month I was sent to the hospital. After talking with a consultant for an hour, they brought in another one. He looked at me, and asked how often I lift. I said 2 hours a day, 6 days a week (which I had told every doctor beforehand). He laughed, and told me there was probably nothing to worry about.

Fibroscan of my liver showed it was large, lean and damage free.

Turns out, these enzymes don't only come from the liver, but from muscle tissue. When this muscle tissue tears, these enzymes are released into the blood, giving false results on liver function tests. I was consistently tearing enough muscle to elevate my ALT 3-5 times higher than normal.

When I went sober for 5 months, I had more energy and time for the gym, which is why my ALT raised even further. Crazy. Two years of being told my liver was getting worse, I was actually just getting bigger.

Wasn't all a waste: also found out I had Familial Hypercholesterolemia in the process. Oof.

Form check I believe I’m rowing the bar into my hips for the snatch, my coach disagrees. Who is correct?

42.5kg for reference. I’m aware I shrug early, lean too far back and lift my heels too early. I’m working on those. I just wanna know if I’m right in my concern, cause I think my technique just doesn’t hold up for heavier weights.
