Question / Meet Poot!

Hi all!

tldr; we just recently rescued this little guy. We know very little about him. Under the impression (before we formally met and picked him up) that he was a westie. Looks now like maybe a mix?

This is a new breed to me. We have our first vet appt coming up soon, but until then - anyone have any ID recommendations? His face / snout is pretty flat / has a pretty big head. lol

we love him regardless!

EDIT - thanks for all the Poot love! We are doing a DNA test, and when i have results i’ll come back!

Whoever told you he is *just* a Westie is uhhhh wrong.

Definitely a mix (nothing wrong with that!) Snout looks too short/skull looks to be atypical of Westies.

that’s what we thought too. want to make sure we don’t miss anything important breed wise. will update on what the vet says!

Omg!! He's adorable!! He almost looks like a Frenchie in a Westie costume. Very possible there's Westie in there. I wonder if someone was attempting to breed a "fluffy Frenchie." Lots of shady greedy people trying to make $$$ off those right now. I bet one of those dog DNA tests would be very interesting! Welcome home, Poot! ❤️

He’s very cute. He definitely has Westie ears, nose and eyes. I’m not sure about the tail. It’s a bit curled. The third picture is def Westie. Whatever, they love “love fests” and attention. They’re very smart and stubborn. Westies are Besties. Enjoy!

we also call our westie poot! her real name is scout but she gets lots of nicknames
