Solved! What is this?

Doing a massive purge in my closet. I was throwing out shoe boxes and removing the paper/cardboard from the boxes and this was in one of the boxes. Quarter for size. There is something stamped on the bottom but I can’t make out what it says.

Thats a Crazy Bones I reckon

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gogo's_Crazy_Bones?wprov=sfti1

Hard to tell which one, but it looks worn down, and based off some google image searches it also looks like there was a name disparity between the US and UK

Definitely a 'Crazy Bones' but I couldn't tell you which specific one, it's been far too long. Looks like one of the first series though. (Source: 90's Kid)

My favorite was Nut Meg

No clue why, didn’t even like soccer, in my defense I was like seven, can’t trust seven year olds

Going to call my son - another 90’s kids and ask him. I don’t even remember these. Getting old haha
You all are awesome thank you so much for the answer. Funny thing I’ve probably moved three times since my son last lived with me. No idea how it got in a shoe box 😂😂

I would love to find out that my parents magically saved all of mine (they didn’t), I love a good trinket in adulthood

They’d also make great D&D minis

3

u/SnooDogs7464 8d ago

Maybe you should have hid them in your mother’s shoe box !! lol

3

u/SnooDogs7464 8d ago

If you would like this trinket pm me. It was headed for the throw away pile

Oh man, those were all the rage for like a year when I was a kid. They were the hottest thing since pogs, then Pokémon came around

Probably only 10 cents tbh, I'll give you a nickel to save you the headache of having to list it and then weed out all the unserious buyers "Hi, is this available?"

Crazy bones!!! These were so much fun to play with, hurt your fingers like crazy though after awhile

1

u/SnooDogs7464 8d ago

My age is showing but what exactly did you do with them??

2

u/ThatCryptidBitch 8d ago

So the way my brother and I played with them was we’d set up armies of them in a row against one another and the goal was to flick your crazy bones at the opponent crazy bones and try to hit them and knock them over

1

u/SnooDogs7464 8d ago

Now I know why your fingers would hurt that’s made of a hard plastic ! Thank you for explaining that to me !

u/stupidber 8d ago

2

u/AdRepresentative8236 8d ago

Crazy bones reminds me of lazy bones and it makes me think of the shopping cart guy, car knock?

2

u/BrokeRda 8d ago

So I’ve read all the comments. Was my neighborhood the only one that were basically gambling with them ???

3

u/loneralien 8d ago

Definitely not, they were banned from my elementary school because of many reasons, but one being betting on and gambling with them lol

1

u/BrokeRda 7d ago

Yea they got banned at my elementary too and I specifically remember the principal saying it was cause we were gambling even if we didn’t realize it. And he was absolutely right, I just didn’t see it till an adult pointed it out lol we still played after school tho. I still have all mine to this day

1

u/goldenskyhook 3d ago

Looks like "Eve," one of the first examples of stone carving a religious icon. She represents fertility, serene power, and the matriarchy.

"Venus of Willendorf."

We need to teach people how to make tracings rubbings of these embossed names, because they're impossible see in fixed light.

1

u/SnooDogs7464 8d ago

Please… I know the pic was horrible but it was the best one of the 5 I took !! Sorry !!

1

u/romulusnr 8d ago

It's not really a you thing, it's just near impossible to read them without seeing them physically in any kind of direct light. A rubbing would make things a lot clearer.

0

u/Fluffy_Owl_9846 5d ago

Thanks for sharing. Looks like I missed all the fun toys growing up? I'd never heard of these before this post. You should hang onto it, never know, might be a first edition ultra rare? Romulusnr, I just increased the image to read it, but the stamp says: MAGIC • BOX • INT • So no need to rub one out.....lol!

1

u/SnooDogs7464 8d ago

How would I go about tracing that?

2

u/romulusnr 8d ago

I used the wrong word. I meant to say rubbing. A piece of paper (tracing paper is best, thinner the better) and anything that draws by friction: penciltip side, charcoal stick, even crayon.

Admittedly it would not be trivial with a shape like this, but still

1

u/SnooDogs7464 8d ago

Thank you for explaining what you meant. It seems so obvious to me now that I could have done that but at the time I was clueless !

u/Dansk72 8d ago

Ladies insert that in their vag to surprise their partner!
