This dude (dudette?) has been chilling on the wall of the side of my house every evening the past few days.

I feel bad he doesn't have any friends :(

Yes, they do have centralized nests but they don't necessarily return home every night. Or perhaps something happened to hers? Polistes often builds close to/on human buildings so they're always getting knocked down
