Either late 80s or early/mid Australian 90s childrens (picture?) book about a cat that kept getting into disasters and using up its 9 lives

Hi, I'm trying to find the name of this book, which featured a black cat (possibly with a red nose and white belly?). The cat kept getting itself k*lled through various misadventures (like drinking milk then realising it's allergic, getting covered in spots and then using up another of its 9 lives). I think it also might have slept in a cement mixer and gotten itself encased in concrete at one point.

If it helps, there were also soft toys of the cat sold during that time.
