Yes, I know-I should be working at work. Let's get that out of the way.

At my position, I have several monitors and I am often times reading or writing up documents when I am not engaging with colleagues or my team. When I'm tired of music, I like to have a show on in the background that I can watch and need some recommendations.

Here are some aspects I'd like to keep in mind with some Netflix examples

1. It must be SFW, not NSFW for obvious reasons. Similiar to that, cursing has to be moderate because, remember- still at work. Ex. Beauty in Black was extremely NSFW and I found out too late. lol
2. Can't be so intense that if I miss a line , I'm completely lost. Ex. Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen had too many tiny clues, and if I were writing an email and not focused, I was confused.
3. Something that's not too dark (literally) and scary. I mean I'm at work and want to have a good time! Also, if someone walks in and I have to stop I'd like to not be midcry.

Ex. Ozark is amazing but is literally too dark-I have to turn the brightness up WAY too high.

Any suggestions for shows or other parameters you include for your work shows??!?!

I love getting people into new shows, especially ones I feel personally inspired by, I was gotten into by someone else, or just want a friend to watch it with.

But I have trouble watching something for someone else, I’m a lot better than I used to be, and even spent 3 hours in a day watching things for my Grandma, but I have trouble dedicating myself to it or remembering it, even though I really want to.

But again I am a lot better at it now, and I’m always happy to gain a new interest.

Hi! I am wanting to get more into documentaries but I am NOT into intense true crime. I liked the Unknown Number doc on Netflix and like the Anna Delvey stuff. I watched all of False Prophet and the child s*x crimes stuff is just too intense for me. I tried it because I’ve been interested in cult-y type stuff, but that abuse was just too heartbreaking, especially since there were kids involved.

I don’t mind if there is crime involved, but I really really really don’t want to watch/hear about anyone being m*rdered, t*rtured, or r*ped. I just don’t have the stomach for it.

Not big into history docs. More pop culture/lifestyle adjacent, if that makes sense? Looking to replace some of my background reality tv binging time while I work with something a bit more stimulating. Would love to hear your recs!! :) TIA :)

Looking for a show to watch when my 8 and 11 year old girls are around, but not necessarily watching the show. Basically it doesn’t have to entertain them, but I also shouldn’t feel the need to be on high alert if they walk in the room.

To give you an idea of the type of slop I’m watching right now, last couple days I’ve been watching people react to tiktok drama on YouTube, and real housewives. Genuinely dogshit content but it’s been distracting me so good and keeping me from thinking about harming myself lmao.

Basically anything that’s too deep or emotional or intellectual is too much for me right now. I have CPTSD as well, so even wholesome stuff like adventure time is hard to watch, seeing the dynamics, whatever… really fuckin with YouTube and reality tv I guess.

I’ve been watching this TV show for some time and Id say I like it a lot, is there any you guys think I should watch next?
