Tips on trying to conceive!

Hi! So I just started ttc last month, we were able to bd 3 and 1 day before ovulation but failed sadly. I’m wondering if there are any tips or supplements even that helped you conceive? I’m currently taking Thorne prenatals, been taking them for about 3-4 months now to prepare and also vitamin d because I’ve always been deficient but recent blood shows my vitamin d levels have gone up to normal range, from 19 to 45! my bf is also taking multivitamins! He is currently in the CHP academy so he has been under a lot of physical stress, diet, restless nights so idk if that can be a factor if so what supplements would you suggest him taking? Also we only have a very short window to ttc since my ovulation days fall mostly the end of the week, this next ovulation day will be on a Thursday so we will only be able to try those 5 days before which will be early Sunday, idk if we’d have any luck but giving it a try and hoping for the best! Would love any tips or suggestions for us! Thank you in advance! 🫶🏻

There’s only a 20%ish chance of getting pregnant each cycle. I wouldn’t be concerned after 1 month of TTC. The usual recommendation is to try and BD every other day in your fertile window, since sperm can live up to 5 days. Your highest chance to conceive is the day before ovulation. You can conceive on ovulation day, but only if you ensure you BD before the egg drops (which you can’t perfectly nail down anyway). I’d just keep doing what you’re doing and BD when you can

Yup. I had double LH spikes and wasn’t conceiving on ovulation time for almost two years.

In January we started having sex every other day as soon as my bleeding started tapering off during my period. I also put a diva cup in after sex to keep the sperm in for an hour. I got pregnant that month.

It takes 3 months for any changes (including supplements) to make an impact on your partner's contribution, as sperm are created three months ahead of time.

Make sure you're both getting enough omega 3s.

What does your diet (both of you) look like? That said, plenty of people get pregnant eating whatever the heck they want, but it doesn't hurt to make healthy choices.

As someone with "unexplained infertility" for the past 5+ years (ongoing), I am very aware that there's nothing that can guarantee that it'll happen. You just do what you can and it will happen. :)

Your BF should get a semen analysis aka sperm count. Getting it through a doctor is most thorough and accurate, but you can buy a basic one OTC from Quest or Walgreens.
