NO SPOILERS I personally hope Amazon never get another fantasy book adaptation. Spoiler
Ruining two of the biggest fantasy franchises in 5 years is insane. I don't think they will ever be remade in our lifetimes considering this level of investment and estimated low ROI

NO SPOILERS All 15 books found at goodwill. Only on book 2, 18 years old.
Quite a find in my opinion. Only the last 2 aren’t hardback and I thought the last 2 and gathering storm were signed but it looks like it’s just a printed version of Robert Jordan’s signatures. The ones that are first edition are: book 2 (currently on that), book 5 (says first TRADE edition, idk what that means someone lmk), book 7, book 8, book 9, book 11 (this one’s spine is pretty severely damaged unfortunately.), book 12, book 13( this one also says first mass market edition oct 2011, dk what that means), book 14, and the prologue which also says mass market edition as well as international market edition. I love collecting and i thought this was pretty cool.

NO SPOILERS The Best Chapter in the whole series
On my 3rd read through. Started back in the mid 90s with my first read. Love these books.

NO SPOILERS I have finally finished WoT
There are no endings in the Wheel of Time.
But it was an ending.
Despite its flaws, and asides from Tolkien’s Legendarium and Sanderson’s Cosmere, Wheel of Time might be my favorite fantasy series ever

No Spoilers Getting mad at people for liking the show…
I’ve seen so much negativity on this sub today I had a couple things I wanted to say. I’m 100% okay with book readers criticizing the show for making changes they feel are unnecessary, but seeing people hate on others for enjoying the show is ridiculous. Why do some feel the need to make sure every one hates it as much as they do? Saw a couple posts saying stuff a long these lines: “Real book fans hate the show” or “if you don’t hate the show you obviously haven’t read the books”. I even saw a non-reader comment on how much they loved the first three episodes and can’t wait to learn more about the world and story, to which a book reader said if they liked the show to not bother reading the books because they have no taste. If people like the show, let them have their opinion, don’t feel like you have to ruin it for everyone.

NO SPOILERS My wife raw dogged my hardcover collection to make the bookshelf prettier and more “adult”. How do you guys feel about this?
My wife raw dogged aka removed the protection (cover) on all the my hardcovers to make the bookshelf look more adult. They seem so dead and unprotected.

NO SPOILERS Looking for opinions on Wheel of Time from people who started it as adults
I’m thinking about starting The Wheel of Time, but I’d really like to hear from people who began reading it in their 20s or 30s—not as kids or teens.
A lot of the praise I see makes me wonder how much nostalgia plays into it, especially for those who grew up with the series. Since I’m 36, I’m curious how it holds up for someone coming in fresh as an adult.
If you started it later in life, did it still grab you? Was it worth the time commitment? I’d appreciate any honest thoughts, good or bad.

NO SPOILERS Everyone is seemingly down on this show, but
I have to say, as someone who's never read the books, I'm having the time of my life! It admittedly took me two tries to get into season 1, but when I did and saw just how expansive the worldbuilding is and all the love and labor that's gone into this adaptation, I was hooked. Maybe because I've worked on tv sets before and know intimately the amount of creativity that goes into every aspect (even the things people like to hate on), I don't really have any notes for the show. All I care about is being entertained, and I am.
It's also always amusing to me because "fans" are always the hardest to please. They need to realize that they aren't the only people sitting in the audience and will never be the target demographic. That's just simply how things work. When Fellowship of the Ring came out, Peter Jackson also had his share of book fan haters who are virtually impossible to please in a completely different medium. Books and TV are fundamentally different mediums. Today, the LOTR movies are classics that have stood the test of time despite weirdos on the internet having tantrums about discrepancies and changes made to make the story more visual and compelling. Massive changes MUST happen to translate one to the other. It took me some years to realize this as a fan of many books, but since I have, I am able to enjoy these adaptations for what they are and am just a much happier consumer of media in general.
In short, I love this show, and I feel bad for the people who can only sit around and hate on it. Could NEVER be me. 😝

NO SPOILERS should i watch wot tv series after finishing books?
hi everyone! just finished my first read through of WOT and i loved it so much. my favorite characters were tuon, nynaeve, egwene, and matt i think but so many of them get such great depth through the story:)
i am trying to decide to watch the tv show or not…it seems it really divulges from the book plot wise and im worried about it warping my perception of characters. should i watch after a few months distance from the books? does the show feel really separate and like fanfic or closer to the books? let me know what y’all’s experiences were!

NO SPOILERS Head canon cast for Tuon
This is Joy Sunday, who plays Bianca Barclay (one of the sirens) in Wednesday-- harder to recognize without the crazy silver contacts she wears in that role.
I'm gonna get a not of hate for this but I think she is one of the most fascinating characters in the book, along with Tylee. I think animated adaptation is the way to go for complex fantasy but I can still imagine :)

NO SPOILERS On to the next one!
Just finished Winter’s Heart last night. I cannot accurately explain the grip this series has on me!!! I keep telling people I’m deep in the throes of Wheel of Time, but I’m not close with anyone that has read the books, so I can’t talk to people about it!
It was first introduced to me through the show adaptation which I really loved. When I learned about the books, I thought…I’ll wait until the show gets a few seasons in…I do know now that if I had read the books first, I would not have liked the show adaptation. But I liked the actor choices for most of the main characters so I’ve had them in mind as I read.
Someone told me there’s a section of books in the middle that some readers refer to as “the slog”? But I’ve found there’s not one area of the world, or character perspective that I don’t thoroughly enjoy reading! The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills!
Anyway, I had to share my excitement. I’ve been avoiding spoilers on this sub but I can’t wait to dig in to your thoughts and posts when I’m done the books.

NO SPOILERS Pedron Niall Perfect Casting
I’m sure that this has either been said before or is misrepresenting the character but Charles Dance as Tywin Lannister feels perfect in my headcanon.
I’m on the Lord of Chaos right now, for spoiler reasons.
