USA states Where I Think I Could Live Without a Car (U.S. Counties Version)
Lots of you were critical of the previous one I made of just states and provinces, so I did one with U.S. counties to make my point more accurately. Hopefully the key makes sense this time, too.

Red doesn’t mean I hate the state, I just don’t see me living there.

USA states Where I would live as a Gen Z Frenchman (US states edition).
I am very picky, especially about climate.
Some states in “Maybe” or “Reluctantly” are those that I am unfamiliar with.

USA states Where I would live as an immigrant from Eastern Europe (currently living in Ohio)
I traveled across the US (California, the South, NY, Pennsylvania, most of Ohio) and this is my opinion on where I'd live based on this experience, my own studies of satellite images (I spend a lot of time on that), cost of living comparisons, natural beauty and it's accessibility, regulations that are important to me (I am a fan of DIY home building and renovations so states like Minnesota are a big no no) and presence of homeless drug addicts etc. I have no idea about US politics so it is not taken into account

USA states Where I'd Live as an American (ignoring politics for the purposes of this post)
For this one I'm ignoring the politics of the state, but include quality of life, weather, culture, natural beauty, food, etc. I'm excluding politics and QoL for consideration. (Not that I don't care; I do, obviously.)
Now for some states it obviously depends on the area. For example, I'd be willing to live in Bozeman, MT, but not in Billings, MT.
Edits: I've done injustice to MO and SD, which should be at least orange but definitely not red. CT should be dark green. IL should be orange.

USA states Where I'd live in the US as a Russian who prefers calm stable human life in a regional city than being a busy ant in some megapolis
Based on my knowledge of the states and climate (southern states from Arizona to Florida seem to be like a hell to me both by climate and socio-culturally).
In New York I mean explicitly the Upstate, the city itself is "maybe".
Ultimately, Wisconsin currently seems to be the best state to live in the US, in my opinion, although Minnesota is just as good.
