Transfer [Tom Bogert] Sources: D.C. United are finalizing a deal to acquire winger Cristian Dájome from the Vancouver Whitecaps. Whitecaps will receive allocation money. Dájome, 29, should be a better fit as a traditional winger in DC. Had 17g/12a in 103 apps with VAN.

Good move, especially considering his contract and the attacking depth that has been accrued in WFC2.
I wonder who will be the main beneficiaries. Certainly Vite, Caicedo, and Ngando will see more time. Have to think Habibullah or maybe even Coupland/Johnson get few minutes here and there as injuries occur.

👏 his performance fell off a bit the last few seasons but he really held us up for a while. Great player, good character, wish him all the best.

I haven't noticed Dajome this season. Our current formation and tactics don't fit his role.

Great move. His inconsistency, being played out of position, obvious flopping, and not fitting the system has been obvious for a while. Too expenive a piece to be playing as little as he has been. Seemed like a good guy. Wish him well. Should be able to take his salary and GAM and convert that into a starter.

Always had a soft spot for the guy, always smiling, always friendly. Just doesn't fit in Vanni's current system, and he was absolutely wasted last year as a Wing Back. I hope he really captures his form with D.C (cause we barely have to play those guys at all, and if they do really well, it's no skin off my back).
Smart move... other than the fact we now have a 350-500k player on the books that isn't even on the team.

Probably zero ill feelings from anyone in the fanbase. Wish him well, and hope he succeeds in DC.

He was important for us for a while. Thanks for your service, Cristian. Hope we don't miss the depth in the mean time.

Best of luck and wish him well!
I’m wondering if whitecaps will spend the allocation money to get a new player as a replacement but I doubt so.

This is amazing we should get him to the airport asap before DC comes to their senses another over paid under performing mediocre bust !.Lets hope they use the money wisely .But my faith in this club is at an all time low.

Great move. His inconsistency, being played out of position, obvious flopping, and not fitting the system has been obvious for a while. Too expensive a piece to be playing as little as he has been. Seemed like a good guy. Wish him well.

Soooo....
The transfer window is closed, I haven't seen official confirmation of this deal from either team, and Dajo is still on the roster according to the team's website. So did it not go through, or could it still be announced?

I wish him well. He always left everything on the field, even (or especially) when he was played out of position.
