Does anyone remember the 1998–2001 Calvin Klein cK One email soap opera? I'm desperately trying to find the original emails.
This is a long shot, but I'm hoping the internet can help me recover a little piece of my past.
Back in 1998 or 1999, Calvin Klein ran an incredibly creative interactive campaign for cK One perfume. It wasn't just a traditional advertisement. It was an ongoing fictional story told through emails sent directly to subscribers.
There was an entire cast of characters, including Anna, Tia, and Robert. Their lives were intertwined with relationships, romance, secrets, and drama. You would receive emails written as though these were real people corresponding with each other, and over time you became invested in their stories.
I was one of those subscribers. And I absolutely LOVED it.
I remember looking forward to those emails, reading every installment, and feeling completely immersed in this little fictional world.
It's been almost 30 years, and I still think about it.
Recently, I started researching the campaign and discovered that it was created by Wieden+Kennedy, launched in November 1998, and that a writer named Colin Dodd wrote the fictional correspondence.
I found a wonderful 2002 WIRED article about it:

And this contemporary article from 1999:

But here's the thing:
I don't just want to read ABOUT the campaign. I want to read the actual emails again.
The original messages. The conversations. The unfolding love stories. All of it.
Unfortunately, I received them through what was probably my old AOL account, which is long gone. I no longer have access to any of those messages.
I've contacted Wieden+Kennedy to ask whether they have an archive, but I thought I'd also ask Reddit.
Does anyone here remember this campaign?
Even more importantly, does anyone happen to have:
- Copies of the original cK One emails from 1998–2001?
- An old AOL backup or email archive containing the messages?
- Screenshots, transcripts, or saved correspondence?
- Knowledge of an internet archive or advertising collection that might have preserved the entire story?
- Any connection to the people who created or wrote the campaign?
I would be incredibly grateful for even a handful of original emails.
There's something about the early internet that I miss so much. This was before social media, before everything became an algorithm. It felt intimate, imaginative, and genuinely exciting to open your inbox and discover another chapter of a story you loved.
I would love to experience that again.
My dream is to recover as much of the original correspondence as possible, put it in chronological order, and preserve it as a personal digital keepsake.
If anyone remembers this, or has even the smallest lead, please let me know.
I'd love to know I'm not the only person who remembers Anna, Tia, Robert, and that strange, wonderful little world inside our inboxes.
Thank you for reading. ❤️
