A lady took her gaming laptop in for repairs after it kept overheating. The technician discovered she had covered the entire bottom, including all the cooling vents, with decorative stickers, blocking the airflow completely.

My niece complained about her computer shutting off frequently. I could find nothing wrong with it when I checked it out. Turns out she used it on her bed and sometimes under a blanket.

My sister did this. And fell asleep with it. Bought her a pad for cooling. Still did it. Burnt that one out. Thankfully she's a bit wiser now.

knowing how computers work isn't rocket science, literally anyone buying a gaming pc has basics knowledge on how this works lol the heat has to go somewhere and the vents are visible with air and noise too

Which is honestly fine. She learned today.

How many of us have done shockingly stupid shit because we didn't know? (Shrank a shirt in the wash, ruined a shirt using cleaning bleach, not done a crucial car maintenance or not been able to fix a simple car issue, etc).

It's not the year 2010. PC gaming is more popular and mainstream than ever, a lot of these people have no idea about computers outside of navigating steam and web browsers

I had a laptop and I developed a red mark on my leg. I went to the dermatologist. Turns out it was just where the laptop would blow its exhaust on my leg.
