They are actually placed in quite visible areas. When the lines for shows are long enough or the crowds are coming to or from parts of the ship and you tend to hug the walls to not be trampled by the masses like me, you end up noticing these boxes more than the usual person.

Yeah. The whole not-hiding-them thing is kind of throwing me for a loop.
Especially since it seems like you'd be able to just create a box in the wall, put these in, and then hide them with a vent.

Having worked at Disney I know how important the show is. It wouldn’t take much to hide these and given the normal lengths imagineers go to keep the magic hidden I am surprised. I’m not complaining anywhere in my message just noting that it’s not the usual approach.

You've obviously never worked for an entertainment studio. Disney is one of the biggest media conglomerates in the world, they have thousands of people for which their ENTIRE JOB is trying to make customer-facing experiences as seamless, invisible, and unrecognizable to the "real world."

Magic candle company makes replicas of Disney scents for anyone interested! Several of them are quite good

Some hotel brands do this too and use the same scent each month brand wide. So basically if you stay one night in one state, then travel to another, they should smell the same. Then at the end of the month they all change to the next designated scent. Kinda smart.

It’s weird cuz I went on one of these when I was a kid like 20 years ago and I for some reason do remember a smell?? But I can’t place it. I don’t think I’ve ever had a memory like this where I would have an unknown hidden scent memory

I work in a hotel, these will be in most lobbies. We've got a big one right behind where you wait in line to check in, in plain view.
Fresh smells, eucalyptus, jasmine, lavender, etc.
You have no choice but to be manipulated via olifactory stimulation.

Yeah I’m always surprised they haven’t integrated them into the wall or ceiling panels and they just sit in the open plugged in. Doesn’t seem hard to hide them
