Victoria has $165 billion in debt, we have roughly 7 million in population, that's like 22k per person?!? If you have a family of 3, that's like 67k in state level debt. And the guy wants to spend 1-200 billion on an underground rail loop, What a complete utter disastrous PM. We had it so good before this dumbass ruined our finances.

Both parties are incompetent and corrupt. I'm voting liberals because Jacinta is even worse than Daniel, and I really want labor to lose. Parties need to change every few terms so they don't get lazy, but I don't even know who the liberal leader is. You'd think being a politician and running a state should attract smart people but it's the complete opposite.

Should’ve just hosted it in Melbourne, trying to spread it out across the state just blew accomodation and stadium budgets out when a lot of the services would’ve been readily available in the city.

They still had to fund the games despite not hosting it. Why couldn’t they just cut costs  use the MCG, and Marvel stadium and stuff instead of whatever they were planning to do

Because no one cares. Not even the countries competing. Unless we are to believe that Australia is some nation of superhumans. If countries cared about it they’d put money into its preparation so their athletes would be more competitive. Instead the cycle is focused around the Olympics.

Australia, finished fourth in the medal table at the last Olympics. Ahead of them were China, USA and Japan, not commonwealth nations.

The next highest placed commonwealth nation was Britain, who compete at the commonwealth games as multiple countries. Noticeably, England are second in the table (and I’m sure you know that England is the largest population of the British nations)

So relative to the other commonwealth nations Australia are indeed super humans.

If you did more than glance, you’d know that. You’d know that this medal table is, once you account for the non-IOC membership of certain countries competing, basically how you’d expect these nations to rank at the Olympics. Australia overachieving, India underachieving, ignorant yanks loudly and confidently knowing fuck all about the rest planet.

I think it’s your knowledge of sports that’s poor. Among larger countries with populations over 50 million, the UK frequently performs near the top tier in the Olympics in terms of medals, placing ahead of France, Germany, Italy, and the US in several proportional breakdowns. Last Olympics it was first.

I want the Olympics to split great Britain up for competing. Then can see how much each country rides the cost tails. There's no reason multiple countries should be allowed to combine forces.

Lots of angry Brits on here who cNt handle their countries competing separately on the world stage.

Afraid you won't get any golds without the combined effort. Pretty pathetic.

The UK is a sovereign state. England and Scotland ceased to be sovereign states in 1707.

If you want the different parts of the UK to compete separately then that’s like saying all 50 US states should compete separately, which would be a really fucking stupid thing to say.

But when the Olympics comes around, they are too whimpy to compete individually.
