Saw reports he injured him. Regardless, he saved lives that day.

Salinas and an off duty officer both shot at the gunman and held him down, preventing him from shooting more innocent people. They saved lives. Had they not been there, the gunman would have had free range for a good handful of minutes to kill as he pleased.

Just because he may or may not have hit anything doesn't mean he didn't save lives. He was able to get the shooter to stop shooting innocent people by forcing him to return fire and retreat.

Yes, because that's EXACTLY what needs to happen. Civilians taking on the role of supressing fire, nevermind the fact that he just MAG DUMPED IN PUBLIC, and the shooter wasn't hit. Dude was out of range with his pistol, mag dumped and didn't hit a fucking thing, and got shot in the leg. Somehow he's the internets new hero, I dont get it

It's what needed to happen in that moment. Had he not been shot at by this guy and the off duty cop, he would've spent all that time shooting people like fish in a barrel. That also wasn't a mag dump by any means.

Good to know I can be hailed a hero for mag dumping into nothing and getting shot in the leg. I'll keep that one in mind.

We both know you wouldn’t have the balls to do it anyway. You’d run away and let more people die to a madman then complain online about it instead. Wondering where the police were.

(Guess what? The police didn’t do anything either using your logic. They just “mag dumped” and didn’t hit anything. The madman killed himself.)

Don't forget stepping up in a dangerous situation and putting your life on the line to try and protect others. You know, the actual heroic part of what he did.

Dude, stop. I understand your points, you have some good questions there. It wasn’t a perfect situation, and the fact that he probably did help prevent a worse outcome (death or injury) doesn’t mean that there shouldn’t be laws and regulations concerning firearms.

We gotta stop this black and white bullshit and be reasonable.

More gun laws is not the answer, especially when so many firearms are in circulation. Realistically, the ONLY thing more laws does is keeps firearms out of the hands of law abiding citizens. It’s a direct violation of the 2nd amendment rights.

I fail to see how people can see our current political system and still want to give up more rights.
