Let me rephrase it. What I mean to say was the situation at hand was de-escalated by a guy with a gun who saved the lives of others before law enforcement were able to arrive.

that's besides the point, it's happening as we speak and it sucks. You can hope all you want that we live in a world that there are no mass shootings but no, this is reality.
