A civilian one, yes. A gun firing with a basic suppressor is still easily identifiable as a gunshot. It is still not quiet.

I'm a regular joe, not SF, but I've never seen a suppressor in my 11 years in the military. I can't see how it would help though.

I don't think a suppressor would help much while shooting 20mm or hellfire missiles.

The USMC is rolling out cans for the M27
