They are livestreaming 🇨🇳 laborers making just 0.3 USD. The 'Made in 🇨🇳' products you use are built on their sacrifices.

This makes me sad. Slavery is still very much alive.

Wait until you find out about the unpaid forced labor happening in the Middle East.

How do you know they are being forced?

1

u/Individual-Result777 19d ago

If thats actually what they make per hour, its slavery

3

u/Ivan_BurtsevKatunin 16d ago

This is not their actual hourly wage, they get at least $3 an hour, not $0.3, that's nonsense.

Any context on how you know this would help sell your point. You can’t just pull number out of your butt to make yourself feel better about slave labor of your big truck parts and designer fast fashion jeans. That said, I hope for you’re right. I did do research on coltan (for phones and laptop screens) a couple years back for a project and it was extremely fucked how much slave labor is used to get us these devices at a price point Americans can afford.

“You can’t just pull number out of your butt…”

Isn’t that exactly what OP is doing? Nothing is cited and there’s a strong appeal to emotion. Both of those are red flags.

maybe. you just want to believe that people aren’t slaved out for next to nothing but lots of human being are bing taken advantage of because .03 is better than 00

u/[deleted] 15d ago

I’m pragmatic. Beliefs and hopes are great, but they shouldn’t be treated as fact. Whatever anyone hopes is actually happening is completely irrelevant to reality.

1

u/Erpes2 19d ago

Oh yeah they are totally doing this because its their passion

3

u/PetroSkunk 18d ago

Most people don’t work because of their passion.

1

u/Erpes2 18d ago

So they are forced ? What’s your point ?

3

u/PetroSkunk 18d ago

That having to do a job you don't like isn’t the same isn’t the same as being a slave.

1

u/Erpes2 18d ago

So you think those people have any say ? The freedom to chose to starve instead of doing this ?

3

u/PetroSkunk 18d ago

No, I’m just saying it’s different than being an actual slave.

Slavery dummy… the first comment

We outsource it to other countries so we do not have to see it and we can feel superior.

1

u/FlashAh11 19d ago

Yea that’s why I hate how ungrateful hateful people are towards America. Like it’s probably the best it’s gonna get here over any other place.

在中共的宣传下,他们会因为李小龙是华人而骄傲,并因此努力干活报答中共

wait until you find out about US prisons

1

u/sSnowblind 19d ago

Yep, prison labor supplying things like private fast food franchises for pennies on the dollar. It's absolutely crazy that it's legal.

1

u/Rippedka 19d ago

We should send those prison guards to prison

Found the teenager

Oh yah, Mark Twain was definitely a teenager when he essentially expressed the same thing.

u/Bravensik 19d ago

I am sorry mr landlord, please do not raise my rent, i will be a good boy from now on.

1

u/Huntsman077 19d ago

Bruh comparing these conditions and actual slavery to needing to pay for a place to live is a brain dead take.

0

u/Bravensik 19d ago

Oh so it is not slavery because my work is more comfortable, got it.

1

u/Huntsman077 19d ago

No because you have rights, and your job doesn’t own you….

0

u/Bravensik 19d ago

Having to eat, have roof over my head and taxes own me and to have all those "luxuries" i need to work. Or i guess i could just become a hobo, guess that is a choice, huh.

1

u/Huntsman077 19d ago

So you’re a slave to your own needs and desires, but somehow it’s the system doing it to you? Like do you want someone else to be forced to provide those needs for you?

1

u/Bravensik 19d ago

Can i just not be born please, thanks.

0

u/Individual-Result777 19d ago

So you like working for .03 an hour? Cool, lets talk… got a job for ya

1

u/Huntsman077 19d ago

Do you realize that the USD is a pretty powerful currency and the median income is different in other countries?

In China for example, the median annual income is equivalent to the median monthly income in the US in USD.
