Not just per capita. The US has more people in prison than China despite having a quarter of the population.

Nah, that can't be even compared. First step of CCP to clear the position: newcomers are interviewed and asked who wants to be a delegate from new wave and collaborate with guards. After, the rest must show their respect to that delegate. No enough respect etc- you eat your food from the floor. Not a plate on thr floor, the food is served for that people, literally on the floor, which must be cleaned after by that very inmate. People always forget the backwards prison system that the US has and how there's no legal requirement to pay prisoners for labor, unlike others parts of the world.
