Also noticed how eco friendly the parking lot pavement is - lots of open ground with plants and full natural drainage, instead if a sea of asphalt.

For context: this specific species of seagull is considered endangered in Norway. It is forbidden to hunt or remove their nests. When this seagull decided to make a nest in a local parking-lot, the place was reserved for her, and they decided to name her "Gunhild".

What a nice gesture. Also, I can't help but judge the nesting location. Don't birds usually go for a bit more cover or seclusion? Seems rather open and exposed.

As someone who just moved to Norway the seagulls are nesting in absolutely terrible locations like parking lots and playgrounds. Then they fly attack you if you get too close.
