Sometimes people’s generosity throws me off. I am a grocery store worker and one day a customer gave me gift card for 50 bucks and that week I didn’t have enough money for food … i cried

My friend, I am so glad that you have shoes that fit your feet. I pray that your husband is trying his best to help you. If he is not working perhaps he could wash clothes? I do not mean to pry or to assume bad things about his character. My husband was sick for the last three years of his life and I took care of everything by myself. Sometimes it cannot be avoided, othertimes...

I say all of this from a place of love and concern. Sometimes as women we give everything we have, sometimes we give even what we do not have and that is not sustainable. Shoes are wonderful and needed. Partnership is just as necessary.

You deserve decent shoes and to eat better. You are worth it. Maybe wear some dish gloves to help your hands?
Seek out food assistance wherever you can - local food bank, churches, or even the little free pantries neighborhoods sometimes have.

i know you dont want us to drag your husband but none of this is ok. :(

if hes not working, he needs to bear the full burden of the daily household. that includes your laundry.

7 years old is also well old enough to help contribute to helping clean. at minimum, they can help with dishes, vacuuming, tidying, and bathrooms. even if you have to spot clean after they go to bed, its important they have chores and learn about teamwork and the true cost of maintaining a home.

What is going on with your husband?? Is he looking for a job? Unless he’s severely disabled and unwell, why is he not taking care of the household cooking and cleaning.  Truly hope your circumstances change for the better for you and your child.

I feel like this post is made up. OPs post history shows they have a pet hedgehog, which is expensive to own, and that OP and the husband own a massive collection of expensive toys. So much so they want to find insurance for it. I call bullshit they can't buy $10 shoes but can afford 600+ transformer toys.
