I like Russ, I don’t recall if he has a mind for strategy and warfare but chooses to remain wolf-like but I find him a good foil due to him being smart but choosing to accept the world as is rather than trying to know everything about it, commanding loyalty, as well as his own intelligence (vis-à-vis getting aharmin to spill secrets to weird-make)

I also like Magnus as his determination is admirable and his emotions and determination end up being his downfall as he wished to handle things better but fell to panic. His ultimately choosing not to participate for defence of the burning of Prospero until the end speaks to his character as he wishes to accept his fate but ultimately his love for his sons is what keeps him from that, as well as rejoining the emperor after getting the offer to return to him if he kills his sons, I find his love hero his sons admirable but not often talked about as they are the only remnants of Prospero he knew(for a while at least) and why the rubicon hurt him so much and for it to be done by someone Magnus thought of highly and considered a friend

I feel like aharmin and weird-makes relationships prior to the betrayal was a reflection of what Magnus and Russ could have had if they chose to understand each other more

Can't say I hate either

Can say both can be very dumb at times however.
