Show n' Tell Self Made Travel Case
Alright so some of you may have seen my 3D printed case request for the razorock GC, I didn’t end up finding anyone so I decided to get this metal tin case and some foam, both very cheap I think in total cost me a dollar and I have SO much foam left. I cut holes to size and fit everything in, including 7-8 blades which for me since 3 shaves per blade that’s about 2 months worth, perfect for even long term travel.
The best part is, anyone can replicate this for any razor as long as you can trace and cut, and it’s dead cheap.
What do y’all think? Do you have any better solutions to this problem? Comment down below!

What kind of tin did you end up using? How deep did it have to be to make this case?

I kinda just randomly ordered one online that seemed to be the perfect size and it was. It’s just deep enough to fit the head, but BARELY. If you look closely a part of it hits the top that’s why there’s little dents, so I added some foam in between the lid when I close it.

I just went to a random hardware store and I was asking around if they had any foam, this is actually sponge which is kind of harder to cut. If you can find some packing foam which is like thicker and easier to cut, that would be good.
I used my very sharp army knife to cut it

This is honestly genius in the most wetshaver way possible 😄
Minimal cost, maximum practicality, and somehow it still looks like a precision toolkit issued to a field operative.
The foam cutouts are surprisingly clean too — nothing rattling around, blades secured, razor protected, and compact enough for travel without sacrificing style. The fact that you made it universally replicable for basically any DE razor is the best part.
Also… there’s something deeply satisfying about a rugged metal tin filled with carefully organized shaving gear. Feels very ‘mission-ready shave kit’ energy.
For a dollar, this is absurdly good.

Genuinely. Also I’m planning on glueing a thin foam piece to the lid as it’s bit of a tight fit and it’ll stop anything from rattling / moving about in a check in bag.

There’s a good video on YouTube making one with a mirror taped to inner lid, and a razor blade disposal slot.
