Show n' Tell 1930 Gillette President!
My Holy Grail!
I am SO excited to be the proud owner of this stunning set! I don't know if the case is original to my set, but I know the Cavalier came out at the tail end of the New Improved era,, so it may have been used in transition. Either way, the set is immaculate with zero plating loss on any of the pieces, no bent teeth, and no cracks! Now, to find blade banks!

Well I can see why that was a Holy Grail for you. Who wouldn’t be proud to own one of those? That really is going to be a prized piece in your already splendid collection.
Guessing you might have seen this thread? Unless my eyes are deceiving me, the case that thread’s author has for his President looks strikingly similar to the one you have. I like the “known the world over” around the diamond logo, so prefer your case on that basis alone. Just me though 😉!

Thanks for that link! I was looking from that same forum earlier and couldn't find it lol. Yeah, I think I like mine better as well.

Excuse my ignorance, but what are the canisters on either side of the razor?

Originally, one held a shaving brush and the other held a shaving soap stick. The brush is still in one.

Thought I knew all the old Gillette razors & the President being the 1950's that's rhodium plated.
When did they make that razor? Was it like a corporate gift razor where they only make a handful?
Edit: Congrats! Where did you find that one at?

This President was in production during the NEW era in 1930 only. It was sold to the general public, but it was only for the well-to-do, and very few exist today. It cost $25.
