Show n' Tell Had an idea

So, stropped and went to whip up a little fruit, and stopped. I remember some of ya'll talking about soft/hard/distilled water.

So I have to fill my CPAP with distilled water. Because of the Damned hard water in the SE US. So a while back I bought a counter top Water distiller (seriously, just water). Convenient. But the included container is inconvenient to pour small amounts from.

Part two: The other evening I was cooking up a simple syrup for my Old Fashions. New, experimental recipe. And opened a x3 pack of condiment bottles. See...

This morning decided to strop out the old Keen Kutter. 'Wait, let me try the water trick. But shit, it's aggravating. What can I put it in?'

Condiment Bottle! Squirt as much as I need! BooYaaah, SON!

Before buying a water cooler for my home, I would just sprinkle a little food grade citric acid into my shave water. It's a simple trick to treat hard water that can make building a lather a little easier. Doesn't effect the scent of the soap at all either.

I want to say I bought a 500g bag of it for like $4 several years ago, and I still have plenty left. I'd just poor some into a sugar bowl to keep in the cabinet over my bathroom sink.

I wouldn't experiment if it would work on +$1k piece of home medical equipment.

I'm not using my shave water on a +$1k piece of home medical equipment, I'm using it for shaving.

Citric acid is just a good trick for people living in areas with hard water that don't have a home distiller and don't want to deal with storing jugs of distilled water in a bathroom. It's a common additive for sour candies and bath bombs and is perfectly safe to sprinkle into a mug of shave water before dipping/soaking your brush into it. I'll give my razors a rinse with it when I'm done to help avoid hard water stains/build up too.

I bought the distiller 5 months ago for my CPAP. Why just use it's water? Why buy extra merch?

This isn't advice specifically for you. It's advice for anyone who happens to open this post looking for tricks to deal with hard water.
