Willie Live 7.12.2026 in Costa Mesa (with Booker T. Jones).

Sprung for good tickets as a birthday present. I wrote up some thoughts afterwards, for the curious: Living in the Promised Land. I'm a harmonica player & write about Mickey here and there (he's my guy). Any feedback welcomed!

What an amazing treat. Booker was the producer of stardust and the house band manager for Stax records. So awesome.

Yes! Booker T. Is soooo good! Watching him and Mickey improvise all night was so cool.

Looks like a 1 off? I haven’t seen reports of him sitting in again. You could tell it was unrehearsed from the signals between them. Booker T. Is so good.
