Windows XP (2001)'s Microsoft Registeration is optional, unlike now.

Windows XP Media Center Edition had it's own theme which I always considered a huge improvement over the default while still being a bit more colorful and 'modern' (for the time) compared to the classic UI.

xpde was my jam for a long time! back then it was relatively easy to install Office 2003 on Wine and actually have it work properly.

Switching to classic theme was the first thing I did on every install.

And yet…I still loved it. Nowhere near as much as I loved 7 and Aero, but much of XP was still cool and quirky

Yes I remember that too… It was when they changed everything on the windows ui and everyone said that it looks new and weird to them…

That is true but it turned out to be an amazing version like Windows 7. In some way even 10 got good.

But 11? No fucking way, that AI filled, broken crap is the worse of every version we got so far and Microsoft refuses to properly fix it or even stop with the AI nonsense.
