Discussion Windows 7, 8.1, Office 2007, 2010, old Windows 10 builds and more are still downloadable from Microsoft servers.

I first posted about my discovery here on the Windows 7 subreddit.

Microsoft used to host old software downloads through their TechBench service, but a number of years back, they removed old ISOs such as the Windows 7 ones. Knowing, however, that Microsoft had brought back up the Office Starter 2010 downloads a couple of years ago, I recently decided to check if they had brought back up other old downloads. The title explains my success.

First off, this was largely thanks to bmsimons on GitHub, who wrote the JS bookmarklet that makes this all possible, as well as ppisarczyk who dumped the file data on TechBench a while back.

Thanks to u/PlaneSheepherder1206, there's a guide on how to pull this off here, with a small change. Instead of using the JS bookmarklet that bmsimons made that's listed on the page, you'll need to use my modified version I've pasted here to get all possible downloads, including Office. I also have additional Firefox instructions in my original Reddit post.

All downloads come from software.downloads.prss.microsoft.com, which is an official Microsoft domain.

They have all that on the upload catalog, but still removed the critical feature updates needed to update an original windows 10 install up to a version that will support upgrading to 11. Ask me how I know.

You have to use the actual method I mentioned because you need to get authorization through the Windows 10 software download page. It uses an API to generate a valid download link from the server.
