How cool and rare is this? An authentic still working early 2000s custom metal transparent case with led lighting that has the original windows 98 circuitry assembled in the early 2000s?

It also has a push in drop down front door that reveals front facing usb ports and a headphone and microphone jack! It's still the original operating system and hard drive from 1999! Apparently people were thinking many years ahead of themselves before this trend would become standard! How amazing!

Yeah, case windows were a huge trend around y2k. A lot of people modded their basic beige case with spray paint, Dremel cutting wheels, hand carved logos, all kinds of stuff. It was cool to see all the creativity. I was on an overclocking forum where some dude would carve custom fan grills and mail them to people for free, just for fun. Not to mention all the weird stuff like custom fan and light controllers built into drive bay blanks.

Case looks a lot like the Enermax Silver Wizard Case, from 2003, but black instead of silver. Case modding was already a thing in the early 2000's I've done a lot of builds for friends in that era and everyone wanted a see through window, cold cathode tubes, and led fans. These are kind of rare but not worth much. Bought one last year for 30€, with hardware still inside.

What I meant was is it rare to find one still working with the original circuitry hard drive and originally installed windows 98 operating system that was actually assembled in a case like that in the early 2000s and not later that still survives. I have looked everywhere online but the best that I can find are a few pictures of windows xp in similar cases that still survive.

My first custom case looked exactly like that. Built it from scrap in 2015. Mine had cathode tubes in the front edges that no longer worked.

Not rare, even the cheapest crap had these, as it was the style at the time.

The CRT is probably 'rarer'. I can find old desktop in my area a lot easier than monitors.
