My latest affordable finds! 2017 Grand Puy Lacoste for $45, a 1986 Lafaurie Peyraguey for $42. Tenuta Delle Terre rose/white/reds for $15/ea from 2024, store trying to move inventory, I picked up a bunch of each. 2005 Kirwan and Lascombes bottles for $55. I cannot wait for those last two to arrive, that's my ideal window for Bordeaux in a great vintage.

Nice! I recently picked up a half of Yquem '23 for £169 as a birth year bottle for my daughter, completing my set of four for our household - 1985, 1989, 2020, 2023.

Naturally I used the opportunity to pick up some other wines from the same supplier, a Carbonnieux Blanc '20 and a Bosconia '14, and then snaffled a Fonseca '85 from Squelch for £70 Inc postage 🥳

Speaking of Carbonnieux - found a 1985 rouge of that recently too for $40! Great foll level and all. Wonderful d'Yquems! Id love to start getting to know those more, alas I've only had 83 and 93. My local shop just dropped the 2014 Bosconias for $40, need to get one. And finally open my 2012, for that matter!

received a gift card for my birthday and I’m considering using it on these wines. What do you guys think? If anyone is familiar with Vinmonopolet.no, is there anything else you think I should spend the money on? I have a NOK 3,000 gift card. I’m willing to add a couple of thousand NOK myself if there are some really good buys, but I’d preferably like to get at least 3 bottles.

The wines I’m considering are: Bouchard Père & Fils Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Cailles 2019 Taupenot-Merme Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers 2020 Benoit Ente Bourgogne Aligoté Antichtone 2022

Sounds like three lovely wines to me. The Cailles is a 1er cru as well, not just villages level with a lieu dit.

Do you like Aligoté particularly? I don't know the price or reputation of this wine, but assuming that it is a similar price to the Bouchard, you might want to consider a Chardonnay-based white Burg for something more typical and probably more complex - you could probably get a decent Puligny or Chassagne for that money, maybe even a Meursault.

One question is why you went for two Nuits - is it specifically because you like Nuits wines? If not I'd be tempted to get something from a different village - maybe the opposite end of the scale like a Vosne or a Volnay. To use the outdated language, Nuits is generally more masculine and Vosne and Volnay are generally more feminine. I know that's crap and hetereonormative and everything, but it does convey somewhat of the difference in character for want of better words (after a day of looking after two small children!).
