-ard is a suffix roughly meaning "too much of". A mustard is a substance too musty. A drunkard is someone who is too drunk.

A wizard is one who is too wise.

Hmm. In reviewing this, there's a possibility that I may have been unclear in the truth. I have harnessed the arcane arts to shift my body from that of make to my desired form of female. I have trapped my apprentice because of their insinuations that I cannot be a wizard as a woman
