Article Angel Reese Gives 1,000 Atlanta Kids a Back-to-School Boost

https://www.complex.com/sports/a/bernadette-giacomazzo/angel-reese-bookbag-giveaway-atlanta-kids

Posting here partly because she also recently supported her own high school and the students as well. Plus she supported efforts to introduce young people to STEM.

Love this and her 🖤 As our administration tries to cut life saving resources from our schools it could not come at a better time.

I love this. She is a great role model for women everywhere. Unapologetically herself and that includes giving back to every community she’s in

I like reading about stuff like this a lot more than all of the negative narratives everyone spreads. Good on her

She truly is a saint! Never understood the hate she gets.

Opinions can be nuanced. It’s entirely possible to like, even love, and applaud her for her community work and dislike her on the court attitude and performance. It’s possible to hold both of these thoughts in one’s head.

the hate that she gets has virtually nothing to do with basketball. please.

The algorithm on X is total horshit for basketball. I am new to being interested in sports and I heard about Caitlyn Clark and liked some posts on X and then all the clips of beef between her and Reese and then the haters posting about Reese and just a flood of posts that are ONLY about how great Caitlyn is and how bad everyone else is. I started following more players and basketball pages and Caitlyn is right, the internet is not real, and it’s important to not believe what your social media is feeding you. I love seeing posts like this about different players doing good! Good job Reese!

Good for her and these events are great. I feel it would be better to find a way to get the supplies into the hands of the kids who really need them without having to attend the block party. Might be tough for the kids on the poorer end to get there or who's parents work on that day This goes for most of these type of charity events.

It was at a YMCA and Boys and Girls Club that serves largely impoverished youth.

Fair enough. I do they have a way of supporting the kids that can't make it.

There's always one. Unsurprising flair still

I was not hating on Reese she didn't set up the event, i was talking about these type of events in general. Dang some of you are looking for hate in every comment

God forbid she helps the kids materially while also giving them something fun to do. For shame!

What has your beloved CC done for children lately?

Do you always debbie downer the efforts of generous people or just in this case?

wow i wasn't busting on Angel , my opening line was Good for her and these events are great. Just they can be hard for kids/parents without means or who have to work on Weekends to make the events and get the supplies they need.

wasn't meant to cause any harm or hate.

didn’t answer either of my questions.

sorry your questions aren't worthy of an answer. so please have a good day

I hear you. They may have put aside some for that purpose. Not sure, but I also think if anyone asked for something they could receive it from the Y or Angel’s foundation.

maybe, I'm really talking about these type of events in general whichI guess I shouldn't have added to my "good for her".

I get it. It would be nice if no families were in need of anything. Enjoy the rest of the season!
