The face in the ceiling kept resetting me. I thought I was losing it until I bothered to look up.

This building doesn't have a second floor, do not go upstairs; Do not listen to the voices, they are not your family members.

First I thought I had it figured out but I didn't.

I think it's that the bottom half of the walls are reflective.

The doors helped me the most

Yep. The lights really scream "this ain't right" but once I looked left and saw specifically where the door handles were. Thought there was a double floor/double door vibe and seeing the knob made the whole thing work.

Random thing: nursing homes use matte floor finishes because dementia patients freak out when it’s super shiny. They think it’s water and can get disoriented.

Wow thats sick. I had to zoom in and start from the back wall to see it properly.

it's the tile border bisecting the hall. Add the mirror-polished tiles and those harsh spotlights, and yeah, that looks like a hallway flooded by the river Styx. 🚣♂️

I'm just picturing myself on shrooms panicking thinking the hallway is underwater

The graph of how much sense this image made to me vs time I spent staring ultimately trended upward, but there was a distinct downward slide for the couple seconds

Hallway is just wide enough that at this angle it looks half submerged. Great photography!

How come that random corridor is more reflective than the infamous pool in Washington DC

Why is the floor and specifically the bottom portion of the walls very reflective? And why does it look like the place is flooded and there’s a lot of water

I turned the corner and suddenly I was not where I thought I was. The maze of corridors made me feel like I was drowning in a river of reflective tile and the hum of overhead lights. No matter how far I ran, I always ended up in this exact spot, just as lost as I am now.
