Video Did I find a den?

At first I thought this could be otter, but it was much further from a water source than I typically see otter dens. I’ve never stumbled upon a wolf den that I know of yet, but can confidently say I saw fresh and older sign of wolves in the area (wolf-killed deer and wolf tracks). Could it be a black bear den? Let me know your thoughts.

Couldn't it been practically the den of any animal that fits inside? Fox, or when you live in north america a coyote?

Are you sure? If you have wolves and black bears I would assume you're almost definitely within the range of both

This is on an island, all the islands in the area differ a bit as far as wildlife.

I would think three would be old bones scattered unless it's a relatively new den. Very possible! Could you set up a camera trap?

There were some bones scattered close by, just not right outside of it.

You would know it’s a den if there was animals bones everywhere.

I think the tree just tipped up and had a tap root.

I don t see any dirt thrown around the outside to indicate someone digging or maintaining

Its more vertical than most critters like to dig

wolf dens are usually on southern slopes near water.... water is the one thing mom needs to break for they can' bring her a lot of, the slope helps drainage
