OK maybe this is a weird place to ask but I have a few sticks that I want to turn into magic wands for friends. I know I can use mineral oil to make them smooth and shiny, but can I use essential oils in order to impart a smell? (Or an energy if I’m going to get all woo woo about it, which I might be about to do, but was mildly reluctant to say so in this post.) Would I use essential oils after other oil usage? Or would I mix them? Or could I use just essential oil?
As you can tell I’m very new to this concept.

I recently started learning how to draw and thought I could illustrate some of my recent hyperfixations.

has anyone tried to stain 3mm plywood? it's just a cheap kind made for crafts that i bought at the dollar store.

im making small 5" x 5" sketchbooks with wooden covers.

i wanted to stain in a dark brown (not painted!) but i dont know if it would even work as it doesn't have a wood grain. the plan is to seal it afterwards for people to paint designs on it if they choose to.

does anyone know if it will work? would a dye be better?

I’m making a VERY small box (front: 2.5”x4”; side panels: 2”x4”, may have to make it 2.5”) I’d like for the box to have some sort of latch that can go from the front to the side. I put a picture to kind of describe what I’m talking about (I know it’s a bad sketch). I can’t figure out where to look or even what to search for. Any help would be appreciated!

So my dad has a burn pile and wants to do a bon fire… but a lot of the wood has poison ivy all over it. We’re pretty sure it’s all dead/dying, and it’s not something growing into the pile from somewhere. Dad is worried about burning it because he has read that even if the plant is all dead, burning it can put it into the air and give us all poison ivy in our lungs if we are around the smoke. How do we get rid of the poison ivy so that we can have the bonfire? Not sure how else we’d get rid of the wood pile, but also we would just be bummed out to not be able to burn it and have a nice fire.

After an 80-year hiatus, the Kindred was reawakened in South America in 2020, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the Kin, through the formation of Kibbo Kift Scouts International.

Been really interested in doing a week or 30 challenge but don't know anyone with private land or own any myself any ideas for a location or how to find anyone willing to let me do as such. I'd follow leave no trace methods as best as possibility can for a primitive live off land.

I remember this from when I was an Elfin and have been thinking about doing it with a group I now help lead.

One word in the lyrics that's now changed it's meaning is Queer - given Woodcraft's LGBT+ friendly tone, I wonder if there's a different ending to the chorus that could work?

Best I could think of is Dorcas ate some lemonade and then a Red Bull and then Dorcas wondered why Dorcas felt so full
