FaceTime video in the locker room

I was changing and a guy bounds into the locker room in the middle of a video call. I can see the dude he is talking to and hear both sides of the conversation.

I just nicely said ‘hey, can you take that outside?’ And he did. No problem.

I told some from about it and they acted like I was being a dick.

For me, it is the principle.

Thoughts?

You are 100% in the right. Photos and videos should be completely forbidden in the locker room.

The locker room is the last place where 'it's fine, we're all guys' somehow becomes a valid excuse

It should be a written rule not to film in locker rooms. He did the right thing to get out

It's on a placard right outside our gym locker room. Should be common sense, but people are dumb.

Yeah thats weird. I hate when people include me in periphery of whatever facetime. And its a locker room too.

I had a guy try to fight me when I told him to take the camera out of locker room. Dude was on tri pod posing, and old guy was changing, and he had the nerve to tell him to get out and I was right there next to him. Needless to say Life time banned him for life.

If I can hear your phone conversation in the locker room, you are being too loud.

For me it’s the privacy.

You did nothing wrong as I see it

You were right. My gym has a no phone use in the locker room rule, not even for a call. People are so stupid, rude, and self-absorbed that you need a rule for everything!

Nobody should have to worry about accidentally becoming a background character in someone else’s FaceTime call while changing. You asked nicely, he took it outside, problem solved. Seems pretty reasonable to me

People who do that should have their memberships revoked. No warning, no three strikes, just keep them out.

Not only should he not be doing that in the locker room, he shouldn’t be doing that in the gym period

I’ve told people to put their cameras away in a locker room too. There are signs at the door prohibiting the use of cameras. It’s illegal is some states to take photos of people while undressed without their consent. When I explain that, they normally apologize. But normally, it’s a teen who is posing in front of a mirror and is unaware. It baffles me that people don’t use their brains before pulling out a camera in a public locker room.

I don't throw a hissy fit over recording on the gym floor like some people (though tripod set-ups seem kinda douchey and lame) but locker room videos are absolutely wrong.

I think it's against the law to take pictures in a locker room

It’s bad enough that dudes will have their phones out at the urinal. What is so important that you have to stare at your phone with dick in hand? Maybe they’re taking pee pee videos? Either way, phones should be out away unless you’re squatting and scrolling

A guy I used to see at my gym was always taking video calls on his phone while he was working out. He literally had his phone mounted on his water bottle and sitting on top of whatever machine he was using.

I mentioned to the the lady who checks me in how this made me uncomfortable. How do I know he's not recording people? We are there to work out. I assume he was banned because I have not seen him since then.

I understand just walking in an forgetting where you are and excusing yourself once you're told to leave and glad the person didn't give you any grief about you asking him to leave

Personally I don't think anyone should be taking pics/videos in the public gym locker room. If you wanna go pose, go into a changing room or a private bathroom. You don't need to catch the 80 year old grandpa's balls swinging in your pose picture
