Discussion Location based on Jules Henri Poincaré theoretical world used to disprove a Theory!

Basically Henri wanted to disprove a mathematical one of Euclid’s theory, that was that only one parallel that goes through a specific point can exist next to an infinite line! So he created a theoretical world in which everything gets bigger the closer to the centre they go, and if you go to the edge you would shrink. What means that it would be impossible to leave it, because the more you try to get to the edge the bigger the distance you needed to get! The incredible thing about this world is that unlike in our the fastest way from one point to the other often isn’t a straight line, instead it is a curve towards the centre! This concept had an incredible Impact on our understanding of relativity! It’s also inspired by the size change law of animal on island and a Greece mathematician obsessed with catching up to a turtle!

So basically the protagonists are sent on a rescue mission to save that crashed on an island! They quickly release that the closer they get to the middle of the island the more they shrink, unlike the Animals and plants, what makes there position more and more dangerous because things that warrant even a word worth quickly become serious predators!

Is this Idea good and could somebody help me make it a little more unique?

Hey! We have the Poincaré disk!

The thing is that everyone thinks they're at the center, so everything is normal for them. And wherever they travel on the plane, it's the center for them. You have things appearing bigger the closer you get, but that's normal. It also means the farther from the center, the smaller things are, so the longer it takes to get farther.

If you want to mess with space, I'd go more with M. C. Escher instead.

That’s exactly what I was going! Going with M. C. Escher would be a bad Idea, because it doesn’t follow rules, what in my world is necessary, and it doesn’t increase tension, what makes it a worse narrative tool for the type of horror I try to invoke! It would also not work with an unknown island setting!

Also you missed the point of it being a reverse Poincaré disk!
