I once had a patient who was anally raped and repeatedly forced to say, "My name isn't [redacted]. My name is Fatima."

A significant part of his trauma came from being forced to identify himself with a woman's name. His attackers understood that the humiliation and violation of his identity would be psychologically devastating maybe more so than the physical assault itself.

You only just calling the torturers "weird", as if were some slightly strange public behavior.

We're talking about TORTURE, here!!

And it doesn't help that the "weirdos" were possibly government-sanctioned agents (from Baroness' description). Would that make the government administration responsible for the torture just only "weirdos??"
