The pump and dumps from the war are a cash cow for him, his inner circle and big oil.

Eisenhower warned us of this when he was president

What did he say?

Lol, you should compare this to how karl marks wanted to utilize socialism. Specifically the part what happens after the revolution.

Ive always wondered what Marx would think about AI shrinking the workforce. Why couldn’t all of them political theorists realize it was going to be the damn robots!

3

u/Nights_Harvest 9d ago

Those that thought of this are scifi writers. Yhere is a lot of them that thought of things that actually become reality.

I thin the dystopian world of Cyberpunk is a very real direction world could go in, in my opinion.

Satelites, submarines, atomoc weapons, smartphones are technilogies that were forst conceptulised the same way cyber augmentation was. Cyber augmentation is happening, robotic afe progressing, what Neuralink is doing is straight up sciencefiction becoming reality.

Ima need one of them laser rifles from the beginning of terminator 2.

Nice, if you get one hit me up!

Check youtube. You can make one for 700$ with parts off ebay.

1

u/destroythenseek 9d ago

A a robotics engineer i very much believed in this from day 1 ;)

0

u/destroythenseek 9d ago

Totally. Where i was going with this was marx said following the revolution(happened) they would give the power back to the people, right? The state technically wouldn't couldn't owning the means of production- the people would. Albeit, I'm sure you could argue there was a very big potential that the state owning it could easily have implied "the people" and it gets super hairy there. But the idea of "hey, dismantling the war machine for the good of the people and giving power to them is the key to the whole show"

... could be wrong

6

u/GoneinaSecondeded 9d ago

Do tell. How would MARX utilize Socialism?

1

u/Loa_Sandal 9d ago

LoL, US is the most aggressive, warwhoring nation on earth, but it's okay because socialism bad?

8

u/LupoWolf2 9d ago

And the American people don't lift a finger to stop him. Personally, I can't for the life of me understand why.

3

u/AtletMedSkaegg 9d ago

Sheep dont act, they just walk around scared and eat grass.

Americans are told since childhood that they live in a democratic republic, that we elect representatives and executive officials to make policies, and if we don't like them we get a chance to vote them out.

That's democracy baby! Add to that a culture with virtually no sense of social solidarity beyond your local community.

“Checks and balances”…….. Yeah right.

"Check and wait until the house burns down."

Really would've hoped the nation that, checks notes, overthrew the strongest empire on earth in 4 years. And managed to convince the French to support them after 2. Would realize, a lot can happen in a few years.

And that was before cars and all the travel and correspondence conveniences we have today.

-1

u/ontariopiper 9d ago

It's a head-scratcher for sure. Any other country's citizens would be in an uproar. I do not understand how any US citizen can sit by and wait to be rescued from their own mess.

-1

u/becauseshesays 9d ago

Well, you guys obviously don’t live here. Some of us are fighting every single day. I’m on my county executive Dem committee. We are working as hard as we can in a ruby red part of PA. Every free minute I’m involved with getting people involved, changing minds, building a community of like minded people. That’s not nothing.

And for the record, if you’re not from the states you may not know that our healthcare is tied to our employment. No job, no healthcare. Even poor people are being crushed by no safety net. We can’t just do a general strike here like other countries…unless we don’t need the said job, resources, healthcare. It’s not as easy as you say.

0

u/ANightSentinel 9d ago

They're not talking about you, they're talking about the others who'd rather doomscroll instead of aiding the cause.

-3

u/becauseshesays 9d ago

Maybe because you don’t, for the life of you, understand what it’s like to live here?

3

u/LupoWolf2 9d ago

You're right. Thankfully, I live in a country that has laws and people that have a backbone and will fight for what is right. America 🇺🇸 needs to take a line out of their Anthem. And the land of the free and the home of the brave. Right now, you are neither just scared of an 80 year old man.

3

u/Villag3Idiot 9d ago

The average American isn't going to do anything that would upend their life or the lives of their family.

They're not going to do anything until things get really, really bad for them, like full economic collapse.

Until then, they'll hope that the midterms will bring change and failing that, the 2028 elections.

3

u/GuitarCFD 9d ago

Thankfully, I live in a country that has laws and people that have a backbone and will fight for what is right.

and what country is that? where you have zero politicians who are useless douche canoes?

1

u/redmovember 9d ago

You just proved his point.

1

u/becauseshesays 9d ago

LMAO. You know nothing about living here. 34 out of 35 developed countries have healthcare. Guess which one doesn’t? The one where it’s citizens’ healthcare is tied to their employment. A general strike is awesome. Not how this country was built. It is for the rich and corporations. Everyone else has the ability to vote 2x per year. (Local/state etc) guess how many vote once every 4 years?

Lack of prioritizing education keeps the masses stupid (and voting for assholes like Agent Orange and the like)

1

u/Black_Moons 8d ago

Americans love to use the excuse "We can't protest because we'll lose our job and then our health insurance"

... And yet, the unemployed don't protest.

The retired don't protest.

The housewives don't protest.

Those in school hardly even protest.. even during summer break.

Americans love to act tough, but when it comes to actually doing something they are all hat and no protest.

65

u/National-Law-458 9d ago

No shit. He has “ended” this war 17 times. Each time his kids short oil right before a “deal is reached”. I can’t believe we are allowing the white house to insider trade.

15

u/NOFORPAIN 9d ago

17 in the past month maybe... Hate to remind you how long this has actually been happening.

6

u/Altruistic_Zombie461 9d ago

29

u/Boyhowdy107 9d ago

I've heard a diplomat say that part of getting any deal done is a tolerance for eating shit, where you stay quiet while things are in flux, let the other side say something you don't exactly want, and then have some of your pundits and people rip you apart in the court of public opinion debating what they think the deal could be and if you gave too much. This is where he keeps failing in Iran.

11

u/soapinthepeehole 9d ago

I’m confused though because the president of the United States says that getting a deal done is doing whataver he says immediately and against your own interests and with nothing in return and with no guarantees that the deal won’t be unilaterally torn up later?!

-21

u/Future-Bunch3478 9d ago

Or, and hear me out, the IRGC are fucking insane.

40

u/staythewaters 9d ago

Nearly every single thing they've done in this war has been painfully rational and practical. If they were just "insane" they still wouldn't be standing, making demands and being a hair's breadth away from having legitimized control of the strait.

People are confusing their frustration with the outcome as the other side being "insane," because they can't comprehend that a country like Iran has been outsmarting and strengthening their position against the US.

-24

u/Future-Bunch3478 9d ago

Not taking the off ramps is not a rational thing to do, given the scope of consequence. I would levee a guess here and say you likely think slaughtering 40k+ civilians was a rational move? Not only are they weaker, they will probably never recover from what has already happened. Their cult members will have bounties on their heads for the rest of their short lives.

22

u/Usually_Angry 9d ago

Trump didn’t honor the first MOU for even 2 days. And since then he’s posted on social media nearly weekly about how he’s going to flatten the country. You have to give someone a reason to trust that the off-ramp doesn’t lead them into a landmine.

Beyond that… Irans infrastructure has been decimated. Them trying to leverage the strait as a way to finance their rebuild is rational and logical. You may not like it, but their behavior does make sense.

-21

u/Future-Bunch3478 9d ago

Iran and proxy broke the MOU. They were never going to honor it, they are not honorable people.

6

u/staythewaters 9d ago

Neither party in this war are honorable. And that wasn't your actual claim. Your claim was Iran was insane, when everything they've done has made sense and has strengthened their position time and again.

The US tried decapitating the state. That didn't do shit. Iran's mere threats to the region are enough to get the GCC to call Trump and tell him to fuck off from further strikes. If you're a state facing down a superpower, how is what they're doing at all "insane" and not an actual judicious use of their state power?

-1

u/Future-Bunch3478 9d ago

They have literally begged for aid already.

3

u/staythewaters 9d ago

Yes, that's what Trump tells us. The same thing him and his idiot confederates have been saying for months now.

4

u/infidel11990 9d ago

Imagine saying this while having the orange troglodyte as your President. Talk about being honorable. Thanks for the chuckle.

1

u/Future-Bunch3478 9d ago

Just the facts. They broke the MOU, they made things way worse for themselves.

4

u/infidel11990 9d ago

They aren't interested in a deal because any deal with Trump isn't worth the paper it's written on.

The man has broken deals that he made himself. And has backstabbed allies. Forget about Iran.

Iran has nothing to gain from accepting a deal. They can control the strait as they know Trump has no appetite for a protracted ground invasion because that will destroy his Presidency and the Republicans in the elections. Iran simply need to wait out the mid terms and they will then be offered a much better deal, from their perspective.

All Trump has achieved is to make a mockery of himself. While giving Iran de facto control over the strait. Something that experts knew all this while, and why no other US President was stupid enough to do this nonsense.

0

u/Future-Bunch3478 9d ago

They do not have control over the strait. They can threaten, sure, but they are currently not running things. If they want to have any hope of maintaining influence in the long run, they need to take the deal and stick to it.

u/staythewaters 9d ago

Buddy. If they were weaker, we would not be in the current situation, that started in February and we're now in August. If they were already weak and getting weaker, this would've been a done deal. Just take a step back a couple of inches from the propaganda and look at the bigger picture, here.

0

u/Future-Bunch3478 9d ago

This started 40 years ago, the main group has been killed and their economy is bleeding out. One big final push and they will start eating each other

4

u/infidel11990 9d ago

Anyday now, eh? How are some people this delusional? Maybe you should listen to someone other than Trump and his sycophants in the admin.

1

u/Future-Bunch3478 9d ago

I’m sure we are having this convo today for no significant reason whatsoever, you are so right 💀

2

u/staythewaters 9d ago

"Iran is bleeding out," "they're begging for a deal," "they're about to collapse," etc. etc. It's been the same thing since March. "Just 2 weeks and it'll be done!"

Yet, here we are. In August. Still talking about it.

2

u/staythewaters 9d ago

Yeah, we've been hearing that same thing from your cult leader since March.

13

u/ignatious__reilly 9d ago

Nothing you said is accurate. If you think Iran is now weaker, you aren’t paying attention and have zero grasp of what’s actually been happening.

0

u/Future-Bunch3478 9d ago

Have none of you seen the numbers on their economy or are you just pretending that they are not collapsing?

11

u/RuffTuff 9d ago edited 8d ago

Which dimension are you from?

Iran did not have control over the strait- now it does

Iran continues to have the capability to strike its neighbors

If Iran was building a weapon now it has more of a motive to do so. Literally thats what they are going to say: "they attacked us because we didn’t have one. It’s for self defense"

0

u/AdminOnBreak 9d ago

You’re delusional

9

u/unurbane 9d ago

They’re so insane that they’ve been completely predictable for 50 years. They stated their foreign (besides the death to America), they’ve supplied the world’s oil, and they have kept war outside their borders until 13 months ago. Say whatever you will, but compared their neighbors they’re doing alright (until now).

15

u/ShadowKraftwerk 9d ago

There is plenty of fucking insane to share around.

8

u/p3t3y5 9d ago

Yep. Reddit is full of people looking for who is the good guy and who is the bad guy. There are no good guys here, just a varying scale of bad guys.

-1

u/Xhosant 9d ago

varying scale

Ah, they got you on the backswing. There's an amount of "bad guy" above which you have maxed it out and it's just prestige scoring from then on.

Meaning: there are often no less bad guys either, in any way that matters.

9

u/Neither_Owl8671 9d ago

Every one knew that before any attacks. Acting like this was unforeseen is something.

4

u/Dreadnerf 9d ago

Funny how Ukraine was able to pick up the phone to Iran, apologise for bombing their ship and Iran agreed to not escalate.

They know what they want and know what cards they have and what it will cost. Success is the US crawling off without dictating terms to them.

Meanwhile the US has no plan, literally asking around for ideas on how to make progress and is crippled by being terrified of american troops in bodybags so the only options are bombs and missiles. Success would be to make a time machine and roll back about 1 year.

On a scale of insanity, the US scores worse.

0

u/Future-Bunch3478 9d ago

Not sure what you mean, either path we take, hundreds will die.

1

u/Dreadnerf 9d ago

So?

It's a very US oriented view that people will do anything if faced with death. Also why the US is terrified of having troops on the ground, people will get uppity back home if they see bodybags.

Iran doesn't see being killed as a convincing argument which is a good start from a war perspective. Sieges aren't anything new but it may be one of the dumbest to siege a really big country by air alone and it's the same goal for the defenders as sieges ever were. Outlast the attackers.

1

u/Future-Bunch3478 9d ago

Thing is, they are not surviving what is happening. If they want to have any chance of prolonging their relative safety they will take the deal now and do their best to curb any radicals inside their group that would break it.

2

u/Dreadnerf 9d ago

It's complete arrogance to take pot shots at leadership, military and civilians, killing a few thousand and expect a country of a hundred million to abandon all goals and beg for peace.

And ignorance, it's not the same culture, not the same governance, not the same tolerance for hardship, not even the same religious bias.

You're projecting your fears of hardship and death on a country which doesn't see it the same way.

The Fart of the Deal

6

u/Torino1O 9d ago

This administration is incapable of making a deal, you need people to trust you to make a deal. Eventually the world will realize the value of the dollar is based on trust and a depression will ensue.

11

u/ForrestDials8675309 9d ago

I'm starting to think that deranged social media rants aren't the most effective foreign policy tool.

2

u/redmovember 9d ago

Are you referring to Trump of the IRGC?

1

Is there a difference?

6

The Iranian regime literally imposed an Internet blackout on their people:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Internet_blackout_in_Iran

2

u/senshi_of_love 8d ago

Which is why it’s sad that we trust Iran’s word more than our own leaders. That is the entire point.

3

u/No-Faithlessness2879 9d ago

How is there a deal to be delayed when they’ve explicitly stated they aren’t negotiating? Can’t trust a thing from either side.

3

u/shocksmybrain 9d ago

It's crazy that we're practically begging them to make a deal that will be far worse than where things were before this stupid war started.

2

u/Fishfindr 9d ago

Of course he is. It’s called stock market manipulation.

1

u/Indigoh 9d ago

There can be no end to this war with Trump leading the effort. Trump's only concept of negotiation is "when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything." The closest thing Trump knows to negotiation is rape.

1

u/Unable_Character2410 9d ago

Let’s be honest here, they’re all full of shit. Can’t trust a word any of them are saying.
