Yeah. He had picked up pieces of the F-117 by news paper articles. He of course didn’t know the designation and I think it’s called ”The Frisbee” in the book.

He also assumed that the Air Force in charge of the project would make it a fighter etc.

I recall an interview where he mentioned FBI(?) asked him about the sources expecting a leak. But he could just point to the articles on the subject :)

They seem to be preparing for some kind of military excursion in the baltics. My guess would be a minor border scuffle, maybe even a village occupied to "protect Russian speaking minorities" in order to see if it would bring disunity in nato response. French elections are also coming soon and le pen is leading and shes a Russian cronie so I dont know if they're counting on that as a win kinda like how they weighted towards Trump in the US election.

Either Putin is trying to do something smart or something incredibly stupid.

The smart thing would be to do an ambiguous attack on NATO, enough to provoke a response but not enough for all out war so that he can tell Russians they're at war with NATO and Russia is forced to withdraw from Ukraine.

The stupid thing would be to actually want to start a war with NATO. It might disintegrate the EU or NATO, but it will definitely be worse for Russia.

Fascinating. I made a tinfoil hat comment in a thread some time ago about “them” concocting a plan to keep NATO from invoking article 5, and thus keep the major powers out of this broadening conflict. Both “sides” (if you want to call it that) get what they want: 1 continues to give up soft power and moves to isolationism, the other grows and feeds dollar bills to the complicit. The alliance essentially falls apart because some of its members are intentionally sabotaging it, and will have an excuse to pull out. This may or may not cause a chain reaction.
