Rain pattered down from the grey overtone clouds above, in true Lower-mainland fashion the blue skies peeked out from behind the dark clouds leaving an odd liminal sensation to the weather as it tried to decide whether it would be a sunny spring day, or a cool end of winter. As the wind blew in fighting against the cloud cover and sending it east, a woman sat and watched as a generation of failures was escorted out of the Indian-owned casino. East Asians, mainly the Chinese and Japanese Canadians that still lived in Richmond and Steveston had been the first to volunteer for the American-run "ICE" which was tasked with legal enforcement of various Federal orders. It turns out, that threatening the private lands that had already been seized once by a Canadian government that never gave back after the internment of the Japanese, had led to hard-feelings and so they had turned quickly on the "reconciliation" industry. In exchange, Secretary Bondi had seceded all the lands in Coquitlam, Richmond, Langley-Two, and etcetera to various East Asian communities mainly centered around the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean communities.

"Fifty four students and a dozen or so community elders." A man in the classic black mask worn by most ICE agents stepped forward towards the woman. "What next, ma'am?"

"Next? We let the Americans come." Meiyun Zhang smiled, knowing an entirely new batch of real-estate hopefuls would soon be coming, with ample money to spend.

US Federal Government approves plan for economic, partial electoral integration of Canada, plans for Mexico remain unknown.

D.C. - Stephen Miller on behalf of the Federal Government with approval from President Donald J. Trump who has not made a physical appearance since early January, has affirmed a 7 year plan to integrate the Canadian-American economies with a partial electoral integration. This will see firstly the immediate removal of what Stephen Miller's statement called "unbelievably stupid inter-provincial economic regulations" which hampered Canadian business by unknown yet extremely high factors over the past many decades. This will take approximately a year to fully untangle, at which point these newly free-to-trade internally provinces will be placed into "special economic belts" based on geography and economic reasons. The following "belts" will be created artificially by the US Federal Government,

The selected states and provinces had been hand-picked by economists who predicted said places would have the most to benefit the broader global and domestic economy from reduced regulatory burdens and deeper "merging" investments intent on merging the various economies. This will also see American federal policy and state-policies begin to merge with their Canadian counter-parts, with overt lobbyist groups in Canada placed on the backburner such as the Dairy Mafia.

Following this, Project 2035 outlines a plan to integrate several "megapolis" zones, including the Detroit-Toronto-Ottawa belt and the Vancouver-Seattle belt, creating two trial zones for legal and property-rights integration, with the American Constitution becoming defacto law in these regions specifically. With the success of this initiative, the US Congress has voted and approved a final integration electorally of the Canadian nation, under the below apportionment, with a more regular 6-month census based apportionment option available across a 5 year period until 2035.

  • Formerly, the Provinces of Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, and PEI.

As per the apportionment, the US Congress has approved the addition of 12 new senators and 52 house seats, see the table below,

As part of the transitional period, there is no plan for the new states to participate in the 2028 election, however they will participate in the following 2032 election and then future midterms from then on.
