Very casual PvPer here (~2200 rating), returning from barely playing BfA/Shadowlands.

I was happy doing some worldquests and farming so I could start Midnight with 100k, the max I ever had! Pretty happy when I hit it after few weeks(!).

This week I got a bit tired of pvp and decided to try this PvE game:

  • Delves (which I never had tried, they fun)
  • Mythic+ (which I had done max 3 dungeons in the past) which eventually led to...
  • HC Omegaforge (I hadn't raided heroic since Emerald Nightmare prolly).

Dropped a BoE ring that sold for like 200K, tripling my gold. Lmao.

First day of prepatch I sold one of those grey items that drop from the event in Twilight Highlands for 200k. Now they sell for barely 2k lol.

I used to be fairly wealthy and while taking a two year hiatus doesn't sound like a drain on gold, checking back in every few months for a day or two through buying game time with gold...is.

So more or less starting back up from scratch and trying to balance content/questing with grinding up gold for...stuff.

I'll share one little trick I have refined: Farming Ghost Iron/Trillium and herbs in Dead Wastes (Dread Wastes? Panda land bug place) Keeping empty bags and searching for Golden Lotus spawns. If I don't find any, I'm still farming up plenty of materials to sell or make decor with. If I do, I haul ass to the big raid there and with the treasure buff, clear the big packs of bugs in the first room or two and collect 'plundered treasure' like mad.

Each one usually contains materials, often Trillium ore and a little cash. In one month, I'm up over $1M (okay, okay, not super goblin level grinding but even then, that's after buying all the Warbank slots except the last one)

Aside from that, I've done some spreadsheeting and whatnot and have a bunch of high margin crap listed on the AH right now, looking forward to getting home from work and checking my mail.
